Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo has made the 2023-24 NBA Eastern Conference All-Star Reserves, it was announced Thursday. This will mark Adebayo’s third career All-Star appearance.
Making his 3rd #NBAAllStar appearance… Bam Adebayo of the @MiamiHEAT.
Drafted as the 14th pick in 2017 out of Kentucky, @Bam1of1 is averaging 20.6 PPG, 10.6 RPG and 4.2 APG for the Heat this season. pic.twitter.com/8VXL2t1Naq

Adebayo, 26, is averaging 20.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, one block and one steal in 34.8 minutes per game, shooting 50.1 percent from the floor and 78.1 percent from the free-throw line. He had an uneven January offensively, but he’s been indispensable to how it operates on both ends of the floor.
He’s been more diverse with his ball screen coverages this year, playing more drop instead of switching onto the perimeter, where he’s been productive in both ways. Adebayo’s been the biggest reason why Miami’s ranked in the top half defensively for yet another season, despite missing the requisite juice at the point-of-attack. He’s shouldered a monumental burden and deserves to be rewarded for it.
The Heat have now had an All-Star in 18 of the last 20 seasons, with Adebayo becoming the sixth player in franchise history with at least three All-Star nods in a Heat uniform–joining Alonzo Mourning, Shaquille O’Neal, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Each of his three All-Star nods came within the last three seasons.
He also becomes the first Heat player to make consecutive All-Star games since Bosh and Wade made it in 2014-15 and 2015-16.
Adebayo’s recorded 25 double-doubles this season and one triple-double, which came on Nov. 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers–posting 22 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists in 38 minutes. He has the fourth-most double-doubles in franchise history.
Congratulations to Bam Adebayo on making his third All-Star team. Well deserved.
