The NBA announced its second-annual In-Season Tournament schedule Tuesday afternoon, roughly a month after the groups were revealed.
The Miami Heat will be in Group B with the Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons. Their two road games will be in Detroit and Indiana with the two inside Kaseya Center against Milwaukee and Toronto.
The winner of each group–plus two wild card teams–will advance to the knockout stage, which will be played on Dec. 10-11. The winners of those four contests will meet in the semifinals on Dec. 14, with the NBA Cup championship being held on Dec. 17.
Miami’s In-Season Tournament opener won’t be until Tuesday, Nov. 12 against Detroit at 7:00 p.m. EST. Here is their full schedule:
- Tuesday, Nov. 12: @ Detroit Pistons
- Friday, Nov. 15: @ Indiana Pacers (7:00 p.m. EST)
- Tuesday, Nov. 26: vs. Milwaukee Bucks (7:30 p.m. EST)
- Friday, Nov. 29: vs. Toronto Raptors (8:00 p.m. EST)
Only one of those games–against Milwaukee–will be nationally televised (TNT). Tickets for the Heat’s home games are already for sale via Ticketmaster, per the team website.
Miami went 2-2 in the IST’s group stage last year, failing to make the knockout round. It doesn’t have the easiest trek to win at least three games either, but anything can happen on any night over an 82-game season.
The Los Angeles Lakers were the winners of the first-annual NBA Cup, demolishing the New Orleans Pelicans 133-89. The championship game is the only one that won’t count toward a team’s record; those who don’t make it will play “replacement” games that won’t be announced until a later date.
