Miami Heat announce Dwyane Wade’s statue unveiling will be Oct. 27

The Miami Heat announced Thursday that Dwyane Wade’s statue unveiling will be Oct. 27, while “Statue Night” at Kaseya Center will be Oct. 28 against the Detroit Pistons.

According to the release, Wade’s statue was designed by Timeless Creations’ Omri Amrany and Oscar Leon, which will be unveiled outside of Kaseya Center. Live performances will also be held by Rick Ross, a hip-hop artist based in South Florida with nine Grammy nominations to his name, and Nino Breeze.

Miami’s game against Detroit will begin at 7:30 p.m. EST. It will be the team’s second home game–third total–of the 2024-25 season. The team will have “video tributes, activations and a halftime address” from Wade, according to the release.

Pat Riley announced that Wade will be getting a statue at halftime of a Jan. 14 game against the Charlotte Hornets, where Wade’s jersey got hung into Heat rafters.

The 42-year-old is, without question, the greatest player in Miami Heat history. He’s the franchise’s allt0ime leader in scoring,a assists, steals, games and total field goals; he’s also one of three players in NBA History to tally at least 20,000 career points, 5,000 assists, 4,000 rebounds, 1,500 steals, 800 blocks and 500 3-point makes.
