Little, 24, is entering his sixth NBA season. He last played 45 games with the Phoenix Suns last season, averaging 3.4 points and 1.7 rebounds on 46.0 percent shooting, 30 percent from 3-point range (1.6 3PA, 56.5 3PAr) and 85.0 percent from the free-throw line. In 237 career contests, the 6-foot-5 wing has posted 5.5 points and 2.9 boards on 45.2/33.0/73.5 shooting splits.
The former No. 25 overall pick was released by the Suns in August after just one season. He spent his previous four seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he was drafted in 2019.
It’s unclear, by Smith’s report, whether or not his workout with Miami already occurred, or if it will occur in a future date. Nevertheless, the Heat have one open roster spot–though it would immediately put them over the second apron. They also have two Exhibit 10 contract spots open that it can fill before training camp, which will begin Oct. 1 in the Bahamas.
