According to the press release, “extensive” upgrades were made to feature a brand “new scoreboard, new lighting and audio systems, as well as a new retractable seating system in the lower bowl” that will premiere Oct. 7 during the annual “Red, White & Pink” scrimmage.
“We take great pride in providing our employees, guests and community with the best sports and entertainment experience,” Eric Woolworth, President of The HEAT Group’s Business Operations, said via release. “The ‘Home of the HEAT’ will celebrate its 25th anniversary this coming New Year’s Eve and during the past two and a half decades, the Arison family has continued to reinvest in Kaseya Center ensuring it remains a competitive, efficient and award-winning facility. These latest upgrades provide a huge boost to the fan experience no matter where you’re seated inside Kaseya Center.”
The new “Fireball” scoreboard features over 2,500 square feet of LED screens with four large video, two top rings and four underbelly displays totaling over 7,400 square feet of digital display space.
The new lighting feature will create a “boxing ring effect” for basketball games, where the lower and upper bowls will be dimmer while the hardwood will be brighter, highlighting what’s happening on the court. According to the release, new audio was also installed with a 50 percent increase in the speakers.
There will also be over 2,000 seats in the lower bowl subject to new retractable seating, ultimately creating more secure and efficient ways for the home-and-visiting teams to get to their respective locker rooms.
