Good evening. I might be new around here, but I’m actually really really old around here. I’ll be constructing the Five Stars articles after each Miami Heat game.
After each Miami Heat contest, we’re going to review the participants in each game. Using the GameScore metric, the players will be ordered from best to worst. For the season “standings,” the first star in a win will be awarded 10 points, the first star in a loss, nine points, the second star in a win, eight points, and so on.
The Heat looked pretty good for most of the game before fading in the fourth quarter and losing by nine at home. Who stood out?
First Star
Karl-Anthony Towns (35.8)
KAT went off for 44 points on 17-of-25 shooting in just under 39 minutes, including four-of-five from beyond the arc. He was also perfect in six tries from the line, grabbing 13 rebounds in total, 10 of them off the defensive board. Karl added two assists and turned the ball over twice, committing five fouls along the way.
Second Star
Tyler Herro (30.4)
In most games, a GameScore of 30.4 would be good enough for top billing, but KAT was the hero in this one, while Herro was just pretty good. Herro played 35 minutes and scored 34 points on 12-of-20 shooting, along with eight-of-13 from deep. He made both of his free throw attempts and tied for the team lead (with Terry Rozier) with seven assists. He grabbed five defensive rebounds and made one steal, along with two fouls and one turnover.
Third Star
Jalen Brunson (17.3)
Brunson played 36 minutes for New York, and scored 22 points. Although half of teammate Towns, the scoring output ranked second on the club. Jalen hit just six-of-18 from the floor, making three-of-seven from distance. He made seven-of-eight from the stripe, with a game-best nine dimes. He grabbed two defensive rebounds and turned the ball over once.
Fourth Star
Josh Hart (15.3)
Hart pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds, 13 off them off the defensive glass. In a game-high 42 minutes, he was four-of-seven overall and two-of-five from outside, along with six assists, one steal, and three personal fouls.
Fifth Star
Mikal Bridges (14.9)
Bridges scored 17 points on six-of-16 shooting, also making four-of-11 from deep. He drained one-of-two from the line, with three rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks. He turned the ball over once and committed two fouls.
The Rest
Terry Rozier (13.5)
Jimmy Butler (12.3)
Bam Adebayo (9.8)
Miles McBride (8.6)
Nikola Jović (8.4)
OG Anunoby (7.1)
Thomas Bryant (5.2)
Cameron Payne (4.4)
Jaime Jaquez Jr. (3.6)
Dru Smith (2.9)
Jericho Sims (2.2)
Duncan Robinson (0.5)
Season Standings
Sure, Miami is 2-2 now, but the Five Stars standings are also getting underway.
Jimmy Butler 20
Tyler Herro 14

I hope Spo starts Ware next to Bam vs Washington on Saturday. Good opportunity to see how he plays vs crappy team. Bam needs help in paint and needs to be free to shoot his mid-range shot whenever he wants, if he is not wide open for a 3!!!
Lineup is stale it peaked few years ago with prime jimmy.Need an infusion of tall athletic men(ware locksmith even josh)outwith the old cluncan tb klove)u watch the other good teams full of thoroughbreds we have very few(bam terry). As my good friend rc has mentioned theres a guy thats shooting in the 20s whos getting minutes who couldnt guard a statue.Pathetic eric with your choice of personnel.Ware the f is he spobot.Wake the f up
christopher not j rich btw.think christopher is a baller unlike the clunker
Time for Heat players to do some soul searching.
Coaches help them get it right.
Loosing at home this early in the season is not very good.
