Five Stars: Heat 118, Wizards 98

After each Miami Heat game, I’ll be ranking the five players (Five Stars) with the most positively impactful performance using the GameScore metric. Last night, the Heat easily defeated the Washington Wizards, 118-98 in front of 20,328 at Mexico City Arena.

First Star

Bam Adebayo (26.7)

Bam spent just short of 31 minutes on the floor, but that ranked second on the team just 22 seconds behind Terry Rozier. Adebayo drained half of his 24 attempts from the floor, including three-of-five from distance. He made five-of-six from the foul stripe and pulled down 14 rebounds in total, including five from the offensive side of the court. Bam dealt out a pair of dimes and contributed one block and one steal, against one turnover and three personal fouls. With 32 points in total, he nearly doubled the next highest point total on the team.

Second Star

Bilal Coulibaly (19.4)

Coulibaly’s 33:28 on the court ranked second on the Wizard squad to Carlton Carrington’s 37 minutes. He scored a team-high 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting, making both of his three-point attempts. He drained four-of-six from the line and pulled down three boards from the offensive glass. Bilal added five defensive rebounds and a pair of assists, making four fouls in the game.

Third Star

Alexandre Sarr (17.4)

Sarr scored 17 points on a seven-of-11 night from the field in 27 minutes. He made both of his foul shots but only made one-of-four three-pointers. Alexandre collected a half-dozen boards, all but one of them from the defensive side of the court, and added three assists with a game-high four blocked shots. He committed two fouls and turned the ball over just once.

Fourth Star

Alec Burks (14.8)

Burks pitched in 15 points in 28:57 off the bench for Miami, going five-for-eight from the floor (including 0-for-1 from two-point territory). He didn’t have a foul shot attempt, and pulled down three boards (two offensive). Burks spent three dimes and stole the ball once, with a foul and a turnover.

Fifth Star

Jimmy Butler (13.3)

Butler played 30:41 and made six-of-13 shot attempts, but none from range. He was successful on six-of-eight one-pointers, with six offensive rebounds and a pair off the defensive glass. Jimmy had a 4:4 assist to turnover ratio, and committed two fouls along with his 18 points in the victory.
