GAME PREVIEW: Heat, without Jimmy Butler, travel to Milwaukee to face rival Bucks

From Jimmy Butler focused drama, to some forgettable losses, the Miami Heat have dealt with a tough start to the 2025 new year. They are in the midst of losing four out of their last five matchups, but will attempt to bounce back tonight on the road against the rival Milwaukee Bucks.

The team announced in an official statement that Butler’s antics have led to a second suspension for two games. If not traded, he would re-join them Monday at home after their brief road trip this weekend.

Despite all the outside noise, the team still has to focus on getting things back on track. They have fallen back to a .500 record at 21-21 overall and currently sit at the ninth seed and play-in spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

As for the Bucks, they have been surging of late. They are winners of seven of their last 10 games and have climbed up to the East’s fourth seed after a rough initial start to the season.

Keep in mind, the Bucks previously slated game last night in New Orleans was cancelled due to a severe snowstorm. They are expected to get back to Milwaukee in time for tonight’s matchup against Miami— although it is possible that this game can get postponed or delayed leading up to tipoff.

In the Bucks last game played, they took down the Philadelphia 76ers in a decisive 123-109 victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way with an efficient 34 points and 15 rebounds double-double, as he is in the midst of an MVP caliber campaign.

The Heat are expected to get back their own star in Tyler Herro tonight, who was kept out of his first game all season on Tuesday with right groin tightness. He is listed as probable.

This evening’s game will be nationally aired on TNT.
