It’s officially official! Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro has been named a 2024-25 All-Star, the league announced Thursday. This marks the first time that Herro’s made the All-Star Game, which will be held in San Francisco, Calif., on Feb. 16.
Herro becomes just the fourth guard in franchise history to make the All-Star team, joining Tim Hardaway, Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic as the only three guards. he also becomes the third player the team has drafted to make an All-Star team with them, joining Wade and Heat big man Bam Adebayo, who was drafted two seasons before Herro.
The 25-year-old is having the best and most efficient season of his career, putting up career marks in scoring (24.1), rebounding (5.6), playmaking (5.4), shooting from the floor (47.4) and 3-point shooting (40.0) on the highest 3-point volume (9.7 3PA) of his career.
The head coaches were the only ones who voted for the All-Star Reserves. We don’t know how the votes were divided between Herro and the other guards, but it’s fair to suggest that the other coaches recognized his growth as a player in multiple ways.
The Heat are 9.3 points better per 100 possessions offensively (95th percentile) with a 3.7 effective field goal percentage boost (91st percentile) with Tyler Herro on the floor versus when they’re not, according to Cleaning The Glass. He’s essentially carried a dormant offense that’s been a middle-of-the-pack unit throughout–and a bottom-tier unit when he isn’t on the floor.

Congrats Tyler, way to go man. Real inspiration for staying tough through the rumors and injuries and just putting your head down and going to work. Not always easy in sports to release from what happen and live in the present like that.
i love it! “It’s officially official!” congrats boy wonder!! hope this drives you more to be a winner for years to come
YAYYY! WELL DESERVED! CONGRATS!
Congrats, Tyler! So cool to be a fan of the Heat growing up and now you can say you are one of the franchise’s All Stars. Keep it up
Vindication! For 5 years of pointing out his skill set and potential and regularly getting pushback by some who kept telling me that he’d never be an all star, this feels good. Anybody who judges a player’s career on 1 game, 1 month, or even 1 season needs to appreciate that it takes time to see what the ceiling could be in the future. The same is true for Jovic, Jaquez, Pelle, and others.
Testify!
