It has been a remarkable 2024-25 campaign for Tyler Herro’s emergence with the Miami Heat. He has altered his shot diet, and it’s led to the most efficient offensive season of his career— resulting in his first ever All-Star honor.
Part of that improved shot diet has included an increase and bigger focus on rim attacks and 3-point volume. And his shooting skills will now be on full display on a national televised level in the NBA’s 3-point contest, at All-Star weekend, for the second time of his career.
The shoot out will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 8:00 PM EST on TNT. The All-Star game and new tournament styled event is taking place the following night.
Herro is amongst the top three in the entire league in total made 3-pointers, trailing only Anthony Edwards and Malik Beasley on that list.
Additionally, Herro is shooting nearly 40% from deep on the season.
His efficiency is near a career-high in that department, as well as his impressive 47% shooting overall. He is doing so on 9.7 attempts from beyond the arc, which is also good for a career-high.
The sixth-year combo guard has led the Heat to a playoff push in the Eastern Conference. He is averaging a team best 23.9 points to go along with 5.6 rebounds and 5.5 assists as a much improved offensive creator and playmaker for Miami. He is on pace to become the franchise’s first 24+ point scorer since LeBron James in 2014.
Does Herro have what it takes to take home the 3-points crown? Let us know in the comments!

Glad to see Tyler finally earning respect as one of the top shooting guards in the NBA. Maybe in the not-too-distant future, Bam and Ware will be recognized among the NBA’s top frontcourt tandem.
