Heat to only have 10 available against Mavericks on Thursday

We are officially one day until the 2024-25 All-Star Break, though the Miami Heat will be in action Thursday on the second night of a back-to-back against the Dallas Mavericks.

Over the last two games, several Heat players–first-time All-Star Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Duncan Robinson–have dealt with an apparent stomach bug that’s traveled throughout the team.

Well, on Thursday, recently-acquired forward Andrew Wiggins, who’s appeared in just two games since getting traded by the Golden State Warriors in the five-team Jimmy Butler trade last week, appeared on the injury report with the same illness. He was later ruled out after originally being downgraded to questionable.

Bam Adebayo (knee) will also be out after recording 27 points and 15 rebounds Wednesday. As a result, the Heat will have just 10 players available for Thursday’s game against Dallas, which tips off at 8:30 p.m. EST on Fanduel Sports Network Sun:

In Wednesday’s collapse against the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, the Heat had just 11 players available, missing Robinson and Rozier. Jaquez and Anderson were the only two aforementioned names who did not see the floor while Larsson played just seven minutes.

Miami is currently two games below .500 for the first time in three months, hoping to head into the break on a positive note. The Mavericks will also be without multiple key rotation players, including Anthony Davis (abductor), Daniel Gafford (knee), Dereck Lively (ankle), Caleb Martin (hip), Kyrie Irving (shoulder) and Klay Thompson (foot).
