Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade, the greatest player in Miami Heat history, is expected to join Amazon Prime for its TV coverage for the 2025-26 NBA Season, Front Office Sports’ Ryan Glasspiegel first reported Wednesday.
The announcement comes with former WNBA great Candace Parker also joining the network. Glasspiegel notes that the deals for both haven’t become official yet, at the time of this publishing.
Wade was apart of NBC’s coverage for the Paris Olympics over the winter as one of Team USA’s men’s basketball analysts. He joins a list of former players who are joining the network to assist with their NBA coverage, which includes Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash and Blake Griffin. Kevin Harlan and Ian Eagle are expected to be the two lead play-by-play voices for Amazon Prime.
The 16-year NBA veteran was a studio analyst with Turner Sports (TNT) from 2019-22. His new role with Amazon, at this time, remains unclear.
This is subjective, but Wade has been great on TV in the past, be it in the studio or as a color commentator. Just make sure he doesn’t judge a dunk contest again! I, personally, thought he was best in the studio. He can break down a game as good as most, so I’m fascinated with his fit as the NBA transitions into this new era of coverage.
The league finalized an 11-year, $76 billion media rights deal last summer for ESPN, Amazon and NBCUniversal, starting in 2025-26. I’ve been critical of the league’s television coverage because 90 percent of the discourse isn’t about what’s actually happening on the court. Different voices, including Wade’s, could shift that (sans ESPN), but we won’t know until the time comes.
Anyways, congratulations, Dwyane!

hate to be a negative hot hoops fan 4l but i cant see the heat contending for a good while.what we got for jimmy was peanuts pat blew it again and again.ant sga wemby brunson tatum still in prime and there teams are to.jimmy bam ty ware would have been a nice nucleus to grow from
That’s absolute bs! We were less than 24 hours away from being stuck with him for the remainder of the season. It would have consisted of more no effort games, personal time absences, and suspensions. His value, already diminished, would have gone downhill. You fell in love with Mitchell, had respect for slo-mo, and Wiggins played well when he was available during the regular season, 18/5/3. Plus we got a pick which can be kept or used in a trade.
When I pushed for a trade in February 2024, there wasn’t a single person more against it than you! Playoff Jimmy, playoff Jimmy, playoff Jimmy, that’s all I kept hearing, even though, to me, he was not giving his best effort. If the trade had happened at that point, we would have received far more for him. Riley should have pulled the trigger then, or at the very latest, before this season began.
Gonna take a year just to pivot to a new trajectory that won’t include Butler, Rozier, Robinson and several others. Kind of an exciting time when you think about. It’s a chance for Miami to remake the team, including it’s style of play. Maybe more of a younger, more athletic, better defensive, running team, rather than the slow-down, half-court, small ball older veteran team it was during the Butler years.
I am very interested to see how this offseason plays out. I agree that waiting until 2026 for major moves would be the most practical way to go. However, I think Riley will try to pull something off this offseason. Everyone is probably on the table. Durant? Giannis? Ja? We shall see.
If Riley does try to make a big splash this offseason to save face, I’m concerned he will make commitments that will hamstring the Heat long after he is gone. It’s makes absolutely no sense to try building a team that can compete at an elite level with the mediocre players/overpriced contracts we now have on the books. Much of that will be cleared off the books by next summer. Miami just needs to be patient and work on developing the young talent the team currently has and the two rookies they will get in 2025 and 2026. We fans also need to be patient and enjoy watching our young players developing right before our eyes. The big name free agents will be hitting the open market in 2026 not 2025.
join miami heat thought it would say.
Heat players reaching a Pat Riley realization the rest of the NBA knows too well (FANSIDED)
“At the end of the day, I want to win. So, I can’t go into the logistics of the tweaks, that’s more of a Pat Riley question … And I hope you can ask that question to him. Hopefully, he doesn’t blow you off.”…
“It might be time for Heat Culture and Pat Riley to adapt or part ways. It’s become painfully obvious that Riley may be losing his touch in some respects while also falling out of touch with today’s athletes. One thing is for sure though, if Adebayo is showing the first signs of being fed up with Miami, he’d better be ready to play the long game.
Riley is old school and probably hates the fact that he finally had to give in to Butler a few months ago. He wouldn’t even bend for LeBron James when he arrived in Miami and “allegedly” wanted to replace Erik Spoelstra almost immediately.
Adebayo’s words rang loud and clearly.
The Heat are a mess and have lots to fix if they’re going to contend in any sense of the word next season. It’ll be interesting to see what comes of this as Adebayo is signed to the Heat through the 2028-29 campaign. Either way, Riley and the Heat have work to do and some tough conversations to have in the offseason.”
is your real name brian gregory
No but the dude has his work cut out for him, per arizonasports.com
“Suns promote Brian Gregory to GM, James Jones reassigned”
Gregory has a laundry list of tasks to get done this offseason, including, but not limited to:
suns roster besides kd and book is terrible.theyre further off than we are
Thank you James Jones. That franchise is cursed.
hes a miami high canes guy though maybe he will wind up with heat
No thanks. If he comes in now, Arison will give him Riley’s job when he retires. Need new blood in the front office. Someone from OKC, Houston, etc. who knows how to build a team.
