So, there were four!

According to longtime Phoenix Sports radio host and Suns insider John Gambadoro, Miami Heat assistant head coach Chris Quinn is among the final four finalists for the Phoenix Suns head coaching job, he confirmed Tuesday.

Of the four names, two of the others were Cavaliers assistants Johnnie Bryant and Jordan Ott.

Gambadoro reported Sunday that the second round of head coaching interviews was wrapped up, with in-person meetings scheduled for the finalists this week.

It was reported earlier this month that Quinn was fielding interest from Phoenix after doing interviews with the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers for their job openings last summer.

All three of the aforementioned names would be first-time head coaches, which was a priority for Phoenix after letting go of Monty Williams, Frank Vogel and Mike Budenholzer in consecutive seasons.

Quinn, 40, is the Heat’s longest-tenured assistant, joining the staff ahead of the 2024-15 season. He was promoted to the title “associate head coach,” ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Suns need stability, and Quinn, a respected assistant, elevated in an organization with unparalleled stability while learning from the best coach in the NBA. Do you think he will earn the gig? Let us know in the comments below!

Good Luck Coach! You’ve paid your dues. Phoenix needs structure, stability, direction and a vision. The team also needs someone who understands and communicates well with the players. That’s exactly what you have learned as a coach in Miami these past several years and as an NBA player. Plus, you’ve learned what it takes to hold a team together when everything is falling apart.

The players and coaches deserve our thanks and congratulations for not letting go of the rope and not losing their collective sh*t this season, when most of us had. We didn’t expect them to get it together by the end of the season, but they did. They fought through the chaos and were able to function as a cohesive unit for at least one brief period this season. It was when they beat Chicago and Atlanta during the play-in round to advance to the playoffs. For the first time in a long time, the players were able to smile and hold their heads high.

Mitchell is the most exciting player Miami has had since 2020 and 2023 Playoff Jimmy. If you forgot the excitement, watch this 2 minute film of the win over Atlanta to advance to the 2025 Playoffs. If that doesn’t put a smile on your face and make you proud of the guys for not giving up, then you aren’t a true Heat fan!
