The 2025 NBA Draft, which begins on June 25, is less than three weeks away!
Ahead of this year’s two-day event, the Miami Heat own just one pick in the draft: No. 20 overall. No, I don’t want to rehash that they were in a position to own two picks before becoming the first team in NBA History to win two consecutive play-in games on the road. But they were, and the slot they would’ve had (11th) at the end of the regular season went to the Dallas Mavericks, who became the first team in over three decades to leap 10 spots for the No. 1 pick.
Anyway, Miami’s 20th pick is the lowest it’s had since they drafted Nikola Jovic No. 27 overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. That is assuming they keep their pick, of course.
This is our second-straight year tracking players who have reportedly worked out, or are scheduled to work out with the Heat (check out last year’s here!). They are a tight-lip organization, but, as always, we will try to track every prospect they are planning to work out below:

The players I like in this draft that may be there for us at pick 20 are:
Nolan Traore.
Jase Richardson.
Walter Clayton Jr.
Ben Saraf.
Will Riley.
Drake Powell.
Cedric Coward.
Rasheer Fleming.
I think the 2 biggest sleepers in our range and lower are Drake Powell and Will Riley.
I really like the future upside of these 2 in the right system.
However my pick for the Heat would be Nolan Traore because with his elite speed and elite court vision he would be nitrous oxide for our stagnant offense.
All we would have to do is teach him how to shoot and that is currently one of the Heat’s coaching staff’s specialties.
I haven’t heard of some of the players. It looks like the Heat are working out players who may not get drafted in order to get a leg up to sign them after the draft. It’s also possible they may be seeking 2nd round picks as part of any proposed deals they are considering for players on expiring contracts.
