The Miami Heat return home for their preseason home opener Monday night against the Milwaukee Bucks at 7:30 p.m. EST. This will be Milwaukee’s first preseason game, while the Heat opened their preseason in Puerto Rico against the Orlando Magic, losing 126-118.
Miami will be without five guards, including Tyler Herro, Davion Mitchell and Pelle Larsson — in addition to Simone Fontecchio, who had nine points, three rebounds and two assists across 21 minutes in his preseason opener.
The Heat will also have the same starting lineup. Erik Spoelstra’s response as to why was very Spo-like, too.
Anyway, here’s our game thread!
Miami Heat Starters:
- Norman Powell, G
- Jaime Jaquez Jr., F
- Nikola Jovic, F
- Andrew Wiggins, F
- Bam Adebayo, C
Milwaukee Bucks Starters:
- Kevin Porter Jr., G
- AJ Green, G
- Gary Trent Jr., G/F
- Kyle Kuzma, F
- Myles Turner, C (team debut)

Considering 5 guards plus Simone out, I like what I see with this team.
Yeah me too…start of something good. We hope.
Werewolf!
Ware and 1
55 # not being retired?
Just one request Spo, wanna see Goldin boy 😁😁😁
dela hoya retired
and Pacman still fighting
he was great fighter until he fought mayweather
The running man? lol
Bud would kick Mayweather’s ass, big time, every time…and twice on Sunday.
achiuwas impressive
Yup. He fills a role until someone else comes along. A few minutes, a few points, a few fouls.
…and a few rebounds.
8 assists, not shabby. 9/8/7/2, not shabby.
It’s true, Nico did well after a slow start. And Jaime must have scored some too after I turned to the Phillies game. We will see how those two do as the preseason goes on.
freemans foot looked like it might have been off the base on that bad throw by edman
I don’t really want to group them together. I have real concerns about Jaquez. But I think Jovic is showing exactly what I expect – not a ss, high iq, solid passer, a facilitator, and can create mismatches with his size. And if continues to rebound well, it will be a big improvement for us.
same player as last few years bench player
Jovic will start some of the time and play off the bench the rest of the time. He will get at least 25-30 minutes a game. Book it.
You aren’t watching closely enough. He is on the verge of busting out as a pretty good player. Definitely a very good rotation player, at minimum. The Heat got a deal…if he can stay healthy.
Yup. Now he can just play freely with his contract status locked up for 5 years. If he can turn into a combo/playmaking SF/PF, that would be great! I think he is starting to feel his added strength and realizing the team’s need for him to be more physical and more of a playmaking point forward.
nice nico lower shoulder take smaller man on
Exactly. His height creates mismatches.
Jovic!!
go jaguars tired of kelce and mahomes
theres so much sports on now great time be sports fan.gl to our injured panthers tomorrow.dolphin season ova.canes might win it all.baseball playoffs awesome.heat in 2 weeks for real
still early but i guess powell is a keeper huh
niko might just be a bit excited coz of his new contract
jjj what’s happening to you?
bam…maybe waiting for the real games
but yes….just preseason games and only the second
butterfingers will be fine hes about to get engaged to the best player in wnba
u cant do sht w/o a ss gsw would never trade curry for bam and ty,i guarantee pat would do that deal .rc great heat fan but little dillusional about a team without ss is very limited
You already addressed your own comment. Golden State will not trade Curry, so why speculate about it? I believe in playing the hand I am dealt and making the best of it and not being a chronic complainer.
we need a ss is the pt u said u wouldnt do it your crazy if u think that
That’s your opinion, period. You would be by far the loudest complainer if we had to give up young talent and draft picks for a 37-year-old player and then be crap for the next 10 years. Curry alone won’t elevate this team to a championship.
It has to be the right situation/player. Miami doesn’t need another old fart. We already got rid of one (the quitter) and dodged a bullet on another (Durant). I don’t like putting all Miami’s eggs in one basket while sacrificing the future, the way Phoenix, Philadelphia and a couple of other teams did. That’s a little shortsighted. Curry 5 years ago, maybe. Today, not so much.
Bravo! Rec! And Lillard too.
I forgot. Another bad investment. What happens when you bring in an older ss and they get hurt…possibly career ending? Talk about screwed. That’s when you realize you screwed up the team’s present and future. Phoenix won’t climb out of the hole they dug themselves for years. Bad GM, bad coaching and bad player decisions. How many GMs, coaches and players do they still owe money after they are long gone, (e.g., Jones, Monty, Beal)?
norm wig impressive bams bam ware will be fine dru and dav prob backups on good team herros herro good 1st half wears down gets hurt or suks in playoffs,500 team ceiling 45 wins floor 38wins.need a curry type player
atm…Bron the decision part deux
there you go. go heat!!!
Yup!
crotty is such a homer everybody on the heat is an all star
finally nico
Powell #1 option? lol
whats funny about that
new guy showing up everyone
I actually expected that. I think he will be Butler light for this team.
jimmy made other players better normdoesnt have that in his game but yes he is opt 1
Not the best night for Jaime or Nico. But, kayvtivrest any Powell concerns. He’s good, so along with Bam, we got Wiggins, Powell, Mitchell, and Dru, so we do have some nice players you can count on. And Ware should get better. Unless the others show something, they are iffy.
jjj prob g leaguer jovic great in europe in usa ???
Jovic has taken 2 shots, just made a 3, has 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal. Not sure what you guys are looking at.
Oh, now 5/3/5/1
im from showme missouri we shall see rc
Exactly, so why write him off before you do see one way or youngthe other? He has contributed in these first two games so far. I still want to see 15/5/5 if he gets about 30 minutes per game.
Not to be harsh, but he was supposed to be greatly improved. I don’t see it yet. And Jaime, same thing, except more so. When they look good you point it out to me cause for some reason I don’t see it yet. I am not kidding when I say I’d play Keshon over both of them.
i would to his athleticism makes him more playable than jovic and jjj
I am realistic, always have been, in sports and in life. The reality is this, Keshad will not be playing more minutes than Jovic. Learn to live with it.
I want to see more Keshad, but he’s still pretty raw.
Exactly. Jovic wound up with 9/8/7 plus 2 steals in 23 minutes. Not bad for second preseason game. I like Keshad too. However, you are absolutely right. Some players (like Jovic and Johnson) take longer to mature than others. I have faith both will be very good/reliable rotation players…when they are ready.
i would trade bam and ty for curry in a heartbeat
I am very happy you are not the GM
Your heartbeat – not mine. Jus sayin…
ugly stretch
jjj is just out there whats his role looks lost.hes pretty much a driver who gets blocked alot
shnozasch
There is a definite difference between the experienced pros and the wannabes. Sometimes all the hype melts away in the heat of battle against the unreal athletes plying their trade in the nba.
there is a diff between lebron james and andrew wiggins whats the pt 30.some players better than others
Let’s go Heat!
worked for the canes
nice start on this second
and they changed the lineup lol
milw has lots athletes coming off bench
some bad minutes by dru air ball turnover
milw playing like its a playoff game
I haven’t seen it all but what I see so far is Wiggins and Powell look good.
Powell and Wiggs making a case. a strong one. well at least early in this game. go Heat
wig upper body looks little stronger
Ware not starting? injured?
jovic starter for now
