Game story:

The 12-10 Miami Heat are coming off a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers at home on Friday night. After starting the season so well and with a 7 game-winning streak at one point, the Heat have struggled to be mediocre at best ever since.

They have gone through a couple of losing streaks, and every time they seem to pick up a win, they follow it up with a loss. Injuries is the main and only reason for this, as the Heat have put together 14 different starting lineups this season: A league high. Tonight, the Heat travel to Charlotte looking for another bounce-back win against the 7-13 Hornets.

The Hornets will be without the services of their best player LaMelo Ball, who is out with an ankle injury. Cody Martin, twin brother to Miami’s Caleb Martin, is also out due to injury for them.

The Heat still are without three starters in Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Haywood Highsmith.

Nikola Jovic and Cole Swider are also not with the team as they were sent to the Skyforce g-league team for some more in-game reps.

Even without Ball there to run the offense for Charlotte, Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges and Gordon Hayward are all players capable of making an impact for this Hornets team.

The Miami Heat missed a lot of free throws, had 18 turnovers and got killed in the rebounding battle against the Cavs in their last game.

Look for all 3 of those departments to try and improve for tonight.

Jimmy Butler is also coming off his worst performance of the season, where he put up 16 points but on just 5/15 shooting.

Butler is usually a very efficient offensive player, so it will also be interesting to see how he responds after that performance. With star teammates Adebayo and Herro still sidelined, Butler has uncharacteristically had to carry the load so early in the season for Miami.

Expect coach Spoelstra to keep the same starting five tonight, with Martin and Orlando Robinson shaping up the front court. That starting unit has gone 1-1 together on the season.

Tonight’s game will tip off at 7:00 PM ET on Bally Sports Sun.

heat for life

the rj hampton era will begin tonight.turtle is not fast enough or big enough or good enough

Reality czech

I want to see Hampton too, but,
”This season, Lowry has posted a career-best effective field-goal percentage (field-goal percentage adjusting for made threes being 1.5 times more valuable than made twos) of 59.4 percent and career-best true shooting percentage (shooting percentage that factors in the value of three-point field goals and free throws in addition to conventional two-point field goals) of 62.4 percent behind a career-best three-point percentage of 44.4 percent this season. Still, Lowry entered Wednesday averaging just 9.4 points and seven field-goal attempts per game this season, which would both go down as his lowest for a season since the 2009-10 campaign. He’s also averaging 4.3 assists (his lowest since 2008-09) and 29.3 minutes (his lowest since 2009-10) per game. But Lowry has done the little things well this season, entering Wednesday ranked second on the team in deflections (38), first in loose balls recovered (14), first in charges drawn (7), first in assists (82), first in potential assists (176), and the Heat’s offense has scored five more points per 100 possessions when he has been on the court this season.”

Lowry makes an excellent mentor and second unit PG. Fortunately, he has not been out injured/personal reasons (57 games total) as in previous two years. He is no longer consistent enough, game to game, to be relied upon as an every day starting NBA PG. That is, unless, you are Portland, Utah, Washington, Charlotte or Detroit and looking to tank, bigly, while getting rid of salary by acquiring an expiring contract.

rc he suks come on man

Reality czech

Complain to Chang of Miami Herald. That writer gets paid to write about the Heat.
Those are numbers. Facts. Whether you or anyone likes Lowry , those are valid stats.

vagibugi

It would be really nice, to Heat win the following 4 games, but we have to be realistic.. 3:1 would be just fine. Anything les would be really bad.

SunManFromDogBone

When life gives you lemons…make lemonade. Good chance for ORob and others to get some minutes and experience. I’m hoping we get to see RJ Hampton at some point during the next few games.
GO HEAT!!!
