The wait is finally over. Miami Heat basketball is officially back!
After an offseason filled with blockbuster moves, high expectations and plenty of excitement, the Miami Heat begin their 2026-27 NBA season tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves at Kaseya Center.
And all eyes will be on Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The two-time NBA MVP will make his official regular-season debut in a Heat uniform, joining Bam Adebayo to form one of the league’s most formidable frontcourt combinations. Alongside Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Davion Mitchell, Miami enters the new season with a dramatically different roster and renewed championship aspirations.
Tonight’s matchup also features a Timberwolves team that underwent significant changes of its own, most notably the addition of LaMelo Ball alongside superstar Anthony Edwards. Minnesota remains a dangerous opponent, with Rudy Gobert anchoring the defense and plenty of athleticism throughout its rotation.
The teams met earlier this month during the preseason, with Minnesota escaping Kaseya Center with a 125-124 victory. But that matchup featured mostly reserves, making tonight the first meaningful opportunity to see how these revamped rosters stack up against one another.
For Erik Spoelstra, the challenge will be establishing chemistry while implementing an up-tempo offensive approach built around Miami’s improved athleticism and versatility.
It’s a fresh start, a new era and the beginning of what promises to be one of the most anticipated Heat seasons in recent memory.

Turd appearing in game one
We aren’t playing well this quarter. And what someone said about Hardaway is true tonight, he can get very cold from three.
this is a very good team dont think were at that level.bc just not good enough
niko that over dribbling never works
Portis getting cooked, deep fried
Another offensive rebound. Can’t just give away possessions, epically when you can’t buy a three pointer.
rudy pushed off their
pelle comeon u got paid now
greek airball wow
rc u there?your very quiet tonight.30 man ?
great move bam
as ive said bc needs help.pat knows that
Used up all our three pointers in the pre season…
antman unguardable
f these interviews how annoying espn u aholes
A come from behind win sounds good eh?
espn u get that manila?
+5 on offensive rebounds and +9 on three pointers made.
I can understand the 3 pointers, but Miami needs to rebound better.
Now that it’s getting away from Miami a bit can we have Bam give Lamelo a little pay back at least?
bam likes cheap shotting knicks it seems
no taunting in nba like nfl stfu ant your a great player but a meat head
nice d wigg
why sched minn as first game adam what were u thinking how bout orlando
LaMelo as a facilitator unleashes his potential rather than being the number one option in Charlotte. I don’t know how the Heat can slow them down in the second half
cant stop ant let melo shoot it hes so sporadic
kenny chuck shaq ernie best studio show any sport
Close game. 3 pt shooting makes the difference so far
seemed like it scoreboard says minus 10
minn might be the best team in west theyve improved,
Top 3 at worst with OKC and Spurs as of today
kuminga ball dosummu nice additions losing randle could be a positive.sounds like not well liked teammate more of a one on one player.wemby 1 for 13 lastnight.
We’re one half into the timberwolves season. They hit what I would say it an unsustainable percentage of their threes. Overall I think that’s a pretty bold prediction given the Thunder and Spurs still exist.
lol, true
dosummu explosive guy
niko no double needed there
Portis’s outside shot is very accurate. I thought Jovic rebounded well in a crowd. But, we are up against a very good team. Both teams playing well.
with greek 2qbn runs by our opponents will be drastically reduced this year.hes the #1 bucket getter in nba
wheres the italian stallion divicenzo liked his game .lemelos such a chucker
If Minny cools off from 3, and everything else holds, Miami’s got this.
Might be putting my foot in my mouth, but 11/24 gotta come back down a bit right?
were watching the 2nd best player to ever play for the heat
greeks like russ 100% effort all the time.bam takes naps out there at times
A positive with a negative
he does disappear at times
Comment sponsored by Bartles & James 😛
greeks got that bro mentality.hes been in usa a while
ball can go 3 for 15 as easily as 8 for 15
Harden-like travel
I think even Harden is impressed by that travel. Minimum of 5 steps, mighta been 6
Lmfao! Harden was taking notes on how this season gonna be called
Ate Rudy’s lunch!
ty milw enjoy herro and co lol
Jovic looking more sure of himself.
he back!
I hate how Melo shoots. He gets hot like that and then builds schools with the bricks
Pelle using his head. Literally
russian lady back princess dress
Defense looking better now.
Good minutes from our reserves in the 1st Q
Good run
I’m here for this lineup lol
he double hitched there
lyles was def leaning he wasnt stationary
This lineup is crazy and I love it. Giannis-Portis-Niko-Pelle-Timmy Jr lol
challenge that
A bit sloppy so far. But early we saw Gianni’s’ impact.
Hopefully the D can step up a bit and Minny can get cold at some point .
Ant having his way
