The Miami Heat hit the road for the first time this season tonight, visiting the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center as they look to pick up their first victory of the 2026-27 campaign.
After opening the season with back-to-back home losses to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons, Miami finds itself searching for answers despite a pair of outstanding performances from Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The two-time MVP has wasted little time making his presence felt in a Heat uniform, averaging 35.5 points through his first two games. However, Miami has struggled to find consistency on both ends of the floor, particularly with its outside shooting and defensive execution.
Friday night’s 128-111 loss to Detroit only reinforced those concerns, making tonight’s matchup an important opportunity for Erik Spoelstra and his team to begin turning things around.
Charlotte enters the game with a 1-1 record after suffering a lopsided 128-81 defeat to the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. The Hornets feature a significantly different roster this season, with Dennis Schröder, Naz Reid and Brandon Miller among the players Miami will need to contain.
There’s also some unfinished business between these teams. Charlotte eliminated Miami from last season’s Play-In Tournament in a heartbreaking 127-126 overtime contest, providing a little extra motivation for the Heat heading into tonight.
With another game looming Monday against Dallas, Miami would certainly love to avoid an 0-3 start and build some much-needed momentum on the road.

And I’m done for tonight. Team just isn’t worth investing time into:
Yikes.
It’s fair to say Davion is playing well and teams aren’t rotating their coverage to take away his drives.
How did it come to this?
bam 60 niko 16 wig 30 all overpaid,we miss pts of ty norm jjj
Well. I give up. Gonna sleep before my blood pressure spike more than it should
It’s gonna be a blowout
spos been here to long after cavs debacle most coaches would have been fired
I agree
Naz Reid is what we pay Bam to be, only making half as much.
It’s getting dark around these parts, eh.
diff type player reid can shoot it much better.on a talent level not much difference, naz reids a good player bams a good player .bam is way overpaid though
to old gotta try some youngsters dumbot
This team isn’t it. Gonna be a long season.
why is bam out foul trouble
Nope. I notice that he look distracted and reacted slower to things. When the ball bounce in front of him, he didnt immediately react. He watched it for a few micro seconds before he chase after it.
bam has some lazy bones in his bod
dennis schroeder really can we trade dav for shroeder id do that deal
Didn’t know Heat got game. And they’re down at halftime!. vs Cha?!
I’m binge watching a series with my wife tonight. So far, glad I’m not watching. How can we be losing to this motley crew?
were not good greek ss bam top 30 rest avg to below avg.jjj norm ty how did we lose all 3 thats like60-pts a night.maybe the coach needs to be fired wait but its a family biz that will never happen
Seems like the same guys that weren’t producing aren’t producing again.
Charlotte has 10 made threes in the first half (46% 3pt %). Is it a coincidence?
Offense is horrible, but our defense is even worse. Defense was supposed to be our strenght, not weakness.
Dennis last three point made. Bam sagged way too much.
Many miscommunications and they really look lost in how they positions themselves in the offense,it’s like they don’t know what play they’re going to run.
turrible team turrible dont see this changing unless players are changed or we make a trade or 2
were watching 2 of the 5 worse teams in nba here
brandon miller got game
Holy. No effort on rebounds
look how small bam looks compared to big white boy jeez
He was smoother earlier
klay takes so many forced shots
put richards in u dum ass coach u suk spobot
didnt atl beat this team by about 40 pts
on a side note for me att finally got wplg back no need for antenna
im getting madder and madder the more i see this team play
charl not a good team we lose something needs to happen
bams season has just started
big white boy for charl pretty active for big dude
Looks like spoelstra’s gameplan is to have a stretch forward to partner up with Giannis or Bam and avoid playing Bam and Giannis together for long minutes.
bam needs to play like hes paid
anybody see what lebron was doing during natl anthem lost all respect for that douchebag
Still not rebounding. Still shooting the three poorly. And still not playing defense.
How many games to we give them before completely giving up on the season?
dumbot not playing richards doesnt help. can we agree niko suks
Portis missed a good pass but luckily Giannis was there to pick up the slack
giannis wow
fuk this lineup
wheres bam jeez this is a must win must beat charlotte get bam in dumbot
athleticism with pelle niko hardway portis unacceptable
he just doesnt have the reactions athleticism for nba, forwards maybe try him on slow centers
did u see niko try to guard brandon miller i didnt
Charlotte have 5 turnovers to our 2 but they converted those 2 turnovers into 7 points. Guys perimeter defense . Where is that switchable defense that we want to see from our guys
Giannis why are you chucking up threes too
giannis cant shoot
Bam why would you chuck up a 3
just getting in close game rc out for the night?told wife lets eat early
