The Miami Heat are heading west with some much-needed momentum as they visit the Los Angeles Lakers tonight at Crypto.com Arena, looking to extend their winning streak to three games.
After an ugly 0-4 start to the 2026-27 NBA season, Miami has finally begun finding its rhythm. The Heat followed up their first victory over the Atlanta Hawks with an impressive 145-125 win against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has continued to lead the way, but the recent improvement has been about more than Miami’s biggest offseason acquisition. Bam Adebayo is beginning to find his offensive groove, while Klay Thompson is coming off his best shooting performance in a Heat uniform.
Tonight presents a considerably tougher challenge.
The Lakers enter the matchup with a 5-2 record, led by Luka Dončić, who has been putting up remarkable scoring numbers to open the season. Los Angeles is also coming off a 131-125 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, meaning the Lakers will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back.
For Miami, the matchup offers another opportunity to build chemistry between Antetokounmpo and Adebayo while testing its improving offense against one of the Western Conference’s most dangerous teams.
The Heat also have the benefit of an extra day of rest as they begin a three-game California road trip.
Can Miami keep its winning streak alive and make a statement against Dončić and the Lakers?

Apparently they forgot Reaves is playing
Heat defense against 3 point shooting so far this season has been almost nonexistent.
I mean when they try and defend the 3, they just give up uncontested layups.
What should be a stregth? Is a huge weakness, and I don’t think they have answers.
No defense, no winning. I know it took time for Wade, James and Bosh to gel, but they were a winning team even when it was a struggle.
The Giannis/Bam pairing isn’t, and I’m basically outta hope that it’ll work out. Gotta win a game against a half way decent team at some point, right?
And while I do enjoy having a star player, it’s not that much fun watching opponents shoot 50% from three, and win by 20. The never Giannis’ers looking correct through 6 and 3/4th games.
gn rc im out
Understood
dru smith over conwell i give up
love close up john eric funny erics better looking john ha ha
looks like right now we are a tier 3 team
What’s tier. 3? We look like a lottery team to me. The draft picks the bucks are gonna get might make this an all time failure.
A ridiculous amount of in the paint scoring, often wide open with no Heat player defending.
The defense is a complete disaster, and I don’t have confidence they can fix it. Doesn’t look to me like Bam wants to play.
put bam on luka eric
bam on luka airball your silly sir.u dont know hoops rc
It’s not about that. It’s about you repeating the same shit over and over and over and over again, season after season after season after season. And you think that shows you know hoops? No. It. Doesn’t.
kessler has zero skills just effort effort effort
lariva has a real baby face
Bam Adebayo being out played by Kessler. This is the 5th time this year, our center has lost the battle.
Riley won’t do it, but if he really wants to build a champion around Giannis, he might have to move on from Bam, who seemingly has no interest in his current role on the team, nor finding a way to make it work:
can pelle become austin reaves rc
