I would insert Ware (C) and Johnson (SF) as starters around Bam. What does Miami have to lose? If they trade Butler and get one or more starting caliber players (C and/or SF) in return, Ware and Johnson can still come off the bench. There are good players available, especially in a 3-way or 4-way trade. I’m sure Pat will figure it out.

I would take Ben Simmons (expiring contract), Noah Clowney and one or 2 of Brooklyn’s 2025 first round picks. Butler “likes Brooklyn” and is reportedly interested in joining the Brooklyn Nets during free agency next summer, per @NYPost_Lewis

Don’t blame him. The whole team came out like they were sleep walking in the first period. Remember, Miami plays team defense that requires everyone to be fully engaged and work together I’m sure Butler’s lack of effort impacts the whole team. I watched him going through the motions on several plays. He is the player who used to pride himself in giving 110% all the time. No mas! My wife and I watch all the Heat’s games together. She wondered out loud if he is betting on the outcome of games. I told her I didn’t think so.

Keshad should get Butler’s minutes and Butler should get the boot.
We are getting killt. Just a bad matchup for us. But, this is why, even after some of our wins, I never say we are a good team. Our only good win was against Cleveland and they had a frontlineman out. Not taking away from that nice win, but there is a body of evidence already this year, that amply illustrates our limitations. We are a middling team, needing more, with Jimmy or without him. Nothing except a trade, not Ware coming to the rescue, not other players playing great or young players blossoming, nothing will change our ceiling of mediocrity except a trade. In terms of the playoffs, our ceiling, no matter what we do with our current team, is fifth. But, more likely we will come in 6 to 8.
So, either make a trade or play the kids. And, all I ask is that it makes sense. Keeping Jimmy with this team doesn’t. Keeping this team with Jimmy doesn’t. And not playing Ware big minutes or some of our rookies doesn’t. And, not trading redundant parts of this roster for players with skill sets that can help us doesn’t.
What a frustrating season.

I think right now he’s a decent bench guy with room to keep getting better. May never be more than a good complimentary player. Needs to continue to add more muscle. Only 21. As they say, you can’t teach size.
