It is time for some early Miami Heat afternoon hoops, as the squad will be hosting the San Antonio Spurs inside Kaseya Center at 3:00 PM ET. Today’s game is crucial to earn a win with Miami currently sporting a three-game losing streak.
They will look to avoid falling into their season worst four-game skid, as they have recently dropped to the Eastern Conference’s ninth seed. Both the Heat and Spurs have limped to a 4-6 record over their last 10 games.
The Spurs will be led by rising superstar and generational talent Victor Wembanyama. The 7-foot-3 big man is averaging 24.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists on 47.4% shooting. It will be a huge test for the likes of Bam Adebayo, who will get majority of the defensive assignment against him.
Jimmy Butler is set to play and start for the second straight game since his seven-game was released. Although he didn’t show much passion on the court in Miami’s previous loss, he still showed glimpses of his old self. Butler finished with 18 points in his first outing back.
It will always be interesting to see just how motivated Butler will look on the court moving forward. Despite his return to the team, ESPN has confirmed that his main priority remains to be traded.
Today’s game will be aired on FanDuel Sports Network Sun, with Eric Reid and John Crotty on the call.
