The Cleveland Cavaliers led wire-to-wire en route to a 126-106 blowout victory over the Miami Heat Wednesday evening inside Kaseya Center, snapping the Heat’s two-game win streak.
Despite starting the double-big lineup for the second consecutive game, the Miami Heat were completely outclassed and outmuscled in the paint. Cleveland scored 68 points in the paint–where it outscored the Heat by 30–while shooting 70.7 percent inside the arc despite a shaky shooting night from beyond the arc. The Heat also finished a minus-12 on the glass and doubled up the Cavaliers on turnovers 14-7, which led to 10 extra Cavalier points.
Tyler Herro led the way with 22 points on 9-of-20 shooting and 4-of-10 from 3-point range, though he was out of rhythm for most of three quarters. He also had five rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal. Bam Adebayo tallied 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting with nine rebounds and three dimes. He also knocked down a pair of triples in 38 minutes. Terry Rozier had one of his best scoring games of the season with 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting.
None of it was enough when the Heat’s defense was a sieve inside the arc, despite the Cavaliers missing one of their best offensive creators in Darius Garland (rest). Donovan Mitchell posted a game-high 34 points on 14-of-23 shooting, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range; Evan Mobley had 22 points and 15 rebounds while Jarrett Allen had a double-double of his own with 12 points and 10 boards. Ty Jerome lit the Heat up for 20 points and seven dimes off the bench and Georges Niang finished with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
Wednesday’s result drops the Heat back to .500, while the Cavaliers improve to 38-9. The two foes have split their two meetings on the season with their final meeting coming on March 5.

Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier is under investigation for allegedly altering his performance during a March 2023 game, as part of a federal probe concerning illegal sports gambling.
Miami Heat point guard Terry Rozier is under federal investigation as part of a wider government probe into a sports gambling ring, according to The Wall Street Journal. The investigation is centered around a game between the Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Pelicans on March 23, 2023 that included unusual betting activity surrounding prop bets against Rozier’s statistics. Authorities believe some of the people involved in the Jontay Porter betting scandal may have had inside information that compelled them to bet against Rozier.

In that game nearly two years ago, Rozier played only nine minutes and 34 seconds. He finished with five points, four rebounds and two assists. He was not listed on the injury report before the game, but he did not play again for the Hornets during the 2022-23 season afterward. When he left the game, the Hornets called him doubtful to return with right foot discomfort. He was listed with that injury for the remainder of the season.

Still no trade? It’s going to be a long week…
The Heat are also missing a $50 million dollar player, though he has been playing at like $10 million. I’m not saying they beat the Cavs last night, but there is no way having a Wiggins, Brown or Portis/Middleton wouldn’t have helped a little. If we can get a contributor we can then start truly judging where these guys are headed.
I think it was great for Ware to play against those guys. A great learning experience and curious to see how Ware plays against them the next time.
Remember: if he’s not on the court, he’d better shut up.
Thats much better team. Thats all.
This is Miami’s re-tooling year. Need to resolve Butler situation, bring in his replacement, let the young guys develop and let the team gel. Now is the time for Riley to bring in more young players. The team badly needs a pass-first, two-way floor general.
Yes, just not enough playmaking. Its hard to watch Ty and Dunc doing things which cant do.
dono abused them last night .part of our issues
We’ll get them next time. Ran out of steam after a blistering 3rd. Cavs inside game showed up…and Mr. Mitchell. Should’ve been a Heat lol
out muscled yes not 1 second of bam ware jovic what is wrong with this coach.what did alex burks say to spo . the use of players was good vs orlando not tonight.dont think we win anyway but guarantee 30 mins bam ware jovic together single digit loss
Cleveland is a very good team, especially because they had a few good players missing. They are a little overlooked as they are good enough that they could make it out of the East.
