I still have problems to figure it out how this game was lost.
Spo let it get out of hand and kept rotating in players who were not performing.

So I keep hearing how Pat Riley doesn’t have the patience for a rebuild. It seems like he certainly has the patience to waste this entire season
Why he is allowing Jimmy to run his own trade and only be traded to one team, without a no trade clause, has been perplexing, and hurtful to the value of the trade return.
Riley and Butler are playing chicken trying to force each other’s hands. Pat should trade him to the highest bidder (if there is a reasonable offer). If not, let Butler wallow in the shit he created until this summer with a constant threat of being suspended hanging over his head if steps out of line. Maybe once he realizes Riley is serious, he’ll accept a buyout offer before March 1st so he can get picked up by a team with cap space. Rozier playing “Hero Ball” down the stretch forcing shots rather than looking for open man. Highsmith is just too passive to be a rotation player.
Until/unless Miami trades Butler and brings in a legitimate small forward, I would like to see Jovic and Jaquez start rather than Highsmith and Robinson.
Note: Josh Giddey is on an expiring contract. He started as PF tonight although he is a natural PG. He had 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists.
P.S. The Heat has not been more than 3 games above .500 or 2 games below .500 all year. They are the very definition of mediocre, with or without Butler. I hope Riley either trades Butler to a team he does not want to play for or forces him to stay with the Heat the rest of the season and give 100% each and every practice and each and every game or be subject to additional progressive discipline.
Meanwhile, I’m enjoying watching Ware grow game by game and anticipating what the team will look like when it gets rid of all the $100M+ in dead weight (starting with Butler, Rozier, Highsmith and Robinson) and transitions to a younger, more athletic team.

i never thought terry could play this bad for so many games smh.does hh realize when the ball goes in the net u can get either 2 or 3 points..riley has solved the height problem finally now he needs to solve the non athletic problem.unfort are wings are young but not athletic sun,i was watching houston with both jaylen green and this thompson kid and was thinking wow what ballers they are.just need one super athletic wing which we dont have and btw have no athleticism in the bc either.tys having a great year but lately the bad ty has reared its ugly head.lots shots lots misses lots mistakes.that 82 game season is grueling .wish boy wonder would have gotten rest during all star game.not sure how lebron keeps going at his age with all that wear and tear on his body hes a freak of nature.cant wait to see what lebron luka looks like .lakers get a little size(which they will) they can win it all.lgh
Yes, a lot of redundancy of skillsets. You could see why it is such a problem in this game, both offensively because players can’t get their own shots and on defense because we couldn’t get stops because we had to double players and someone was always left open and if that didn’t happen we got powered thru. These problems get exposed in crunch time where the good teams with two way players tighten things up but we don’t have many (any) two way players.
Our problems, to reiterate, are a redundancy of skillsets and a lack of two way players. I admire what Riley is trying to do do with his social experiment, but he took it too far. That is the best way to say delicately what is wrong with the Heat and trading Jimmy and getting good value for him will help it but the roster needs to be revamped to not have the redundancy and to have more two way players. And that is why, for that and the way this trade has been handled, that I started to wonder whether our GM is right for the job anymore.
2 key reasons we lost, terry played too many minutes in the 4th, 29 minutes with only 5 points Is horrible. Also herro had too many dumb turnovers, he started off bad, and ended bad in that 4th quarter. On to the next, and hopefully we can trade butler, I don’t want him on the team anymore.

Stevens and Johnson. They can’t possible do worse than some of our rotation players. Both would be better off playing in G League if they aren’t going to get minutes with Heat.

Agree. I always feel if any player is just having ‘one of those nights’, try something else. Clearly, Jaquez should have seen more minutes. burks too, as discussed above. And you signed Keshad to a regular contract, why not give him a few minutes?
Exactly, spo took way too long adjusting, waited until around the 2 minute mark to switch out terry, for Jaquez. Burks should of gotten more more minutes as well. Terry was bad offensively and Defensively. But I ain’t surprised at spo’s trademark stubbornness.
Hope the Heat , and Riley, can appreciate that it may be good to stand firm on what you want for Butler, but not to the point where you’re hurting the team. They need to get a trade done in 40 hours, and get Butler off the books so we can move on.

Yes, Pennies on the dollar. His value is as a rental for maybe two or three teams. But, he will torpedo those deals. So, now it’s starting to look like no trade, I’d say now a fifty fifty chance. Maybe tomorrow will be the day if it’s a multi teamer because with all those moving parts, it can fall apart if it’s done at the last minute.

I continue to be angry at the commissioner for not stepping in. The word is, is that there is no direct proof that Butler or his agent have directly told any team that he doesn’t want to play there and won’t sign an extension. Well, obviously someone is telling them. If you or I are told that by those 2 and we relay that information to the other teams, we would be acting as agents for Butler and that should be actionable.
First, Wiggins doesn’t have anywhere near the playoff accomplishments Butler has had. That’s what they would want him for. Next, getting him off our books frees up some money that we could use for a possible buy out player. Last, he is a cancer on this team now and will be one the rest of the season if he’s still here. Let’s give the young guys a break so they can concentrate on life after Butler.

Totally disagree. In a year where he is giving no effort, he is still at 17/5/5. He was only 2 years younger when he excelled in the playoffs. He scored over 30 points 3 times from November into December, just 2 months ago. Bottom line – get rid of him because he’s a total a-hole.
