Who are the Heat’s 3 most likely trade candidates as deadline approaches?

We are less than two weeks away from the NBA’s annual trade deadline, scheduled to be on Feb. 5 at 3:00 p.m. EST. At 23-22, the Miami Heat have some tough decisions to make and uncomfortable conversations to have.

Miami is treading toward the play-in for the fourth-straight year. Who will be a few names who will potentially be dealt ahead of the deadline?! Let’s examine!

Simone Fontecchio:

2025-26 Cap Hit: $8.2 million

Remaining years on contract: Expiring

Skinny: Acquired in the Duncan Robinson sign-and-trade with Detroit, Fontecchio’s had an up-and-down season with the Heat. The fourth-year wing got off a blazing hot start, averaging 11.5 points on 50.0 percent shooting from deep over his first 14 games. He slammed into a midseason wall, but has played well over the Heat’s last four games, averaging 14.5 points and 6.0 rebounds on 52.5/46.2/80.0 shooting splits.

More importantly, Fontecchio’s $8.2 million expiring is a palatable salary filler. It’s not in the golden $10-20 million salary filler range, but it’s close enough. His value isn’t particularly high, but it only takes one team to convince itself of the value of his contract.

Terry Rozier:

2025-26 Cap Hit: $26.2 million

Remaining years on contract: Expiring

Skinny: This one comes with an asterisk. We still have no idea if Rozier can even be dealt — Fans, Media, the Heat themselves, and even Adam Silver. It wouldn’t surprise if the league’s own commissioner didn’t have his mind made up on whether Rozier can be dealt.

Alas, he still makes our list. His value is in the gutter. But it would behoove the Heat to test the waters and see if it can get his $27.2 million expiring off the books — especially if it can facilitate a big-name trade.

Andrew Wiggins:

2025-26 Cap Hit: $28.2 million

Remaining years on contract: One Year, $30.2 million (player option)

Skinny: Of the three names, Wiggins’ name has received the buzz recently. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the most likely name dealt. But the Heat have an opportunity to sell high-ish on Wiggins.

The soon-to-be 31-year-old is averaging 15.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. He’s shooting 47.1 percent from the floor while draining a career-best 39.8 percent of his attempts from 3-point range.

Ultimately, I don’t think Wiggins gets dealt if a first-round pick isn’t coming back. Depending on what the rest of the package looks like, it wouldn’t make sense, conceptually. Should he remain with the Heat past the deadline, they could use his $30.2 million expiring in the summer, should he exercise his player option. An educated guess suggests he will, thus making it a more valuable commodity.
