Dwyane Wade was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame over the summer alongside Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Becky Hammon, Tony Parker and Gregg Popovich.
He played 16 NBA seasons–15 with the Heat–averaging 22 points, 5.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks on 48.0 percent shooting and 76.5 percent from the free-throw line. Wade is considered one of the greatest shooting guards ever and arguably the best shot-blocking guard ever.
He finished a 13-time All-Star, an eight-time All-NBA honoree, three-time NBA Champ (all with the Heat), a three-time All-Defensive honoree and the 2006 Finals MVP, among plenty of other accolades.
Wade, who was drafted by the Heat in 2003, currently stands as the Heat’s all-time leading scorer, as well as leading in minutes played, assists, steals, games and total field goals made. He is widely considered the greatest player and franchise history and, most importantly, the man who injected basketball fandom into people across generations worldwide.
