Don’t overemphasize defense too much. If you have little offensive threat you hurt the team too. We need more two way players. We only have Jimmy, Bam, and Caleb sometimes. And Jaime. That is where we are lacking.
A loss to be expected. Still in the mix despite it all. When we started the 12 game stretch with Minnesota, I thought we’d go 7-5 or 6-6. Hfl asked about low expectations. I said just trying to be realistic. So far, we are 5-4.

When I made that prediction, you asked if I had low expectations.
I was one with low expectations. I have been pleasantly surprised by this team a lot. Spo always gets everything you can get from his players. I have underestimated them at times. I still do. I can’t get past that this team is not built like any other in the league. That we are 20-15 is amazing to me. That we went to the NBA finals with a very similar team in overall strength is hard to believe. I chalk it up to Jimmy and Bam carrying absurd amounts of the load. And Spo being a great coach. But talent wise, compared to the lineups the good teams have, I still have doubts and low expectations. And, without Jimmy, I think we are well below average. Just being real on a forum where that’s all you can ask of any of us.

One thing for sure, Lowry is definitely not it. Of all the former all stars around the league that have changed teams, he has the least left. And there does not seem to be any market for him, even for salary matching reasons.
He could be used as an incentive to a non competitive team weighed down with an unwanted long term contract, like John Collins.

Beal we could have had. Not sure what the big hang up about the no trade clause was. Mitchell may cost more than we’re willing to pay.

Heat have to get real. If Jimmy is hurt bad, it’s over for us. And if he is ok, can’t build a team of the players the Heat has. Injuries are obscuring the picture, but fully healthy, still not enough to have two stars, one real good rookie in JJJ, a pretty good player in Ty, another solid complimentary player in Dunc, and GLeaguers, and little else. It’s not enough. No one else has a team like ours, closest is the Jazz and they are a little below average.

True about Caleb. Not so sure we can count on HH or any of the GLeaguers. ORob, HH, Cain, Dru, RJ, all show flashes, all good defenders, all not good enough offensively as of yet. And probably never will be. Dunc a real outlier to get as good as he is and he is just complimentary type. If you could just insert GLeaguers to fill a roster, teams would do it more.
in the nfl u have low round draft choices all over the league.drafting is not an exact science theres always sleepers
The NBA is the toughest league to make. Still some hit or miss, but not as much.

He has some limitation’s that do show up, other games where he is a solid B+, even occasionally an A- player.
