Jaime Jaquez Jr. is putting together a super consistent and efficient rookie season for the Miami Heat.
He has had many notable performances including a 30 point double double on a nationally televised stage during the Christmas Day win in Miami against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Now, fans across the world will continue to see more out of Jaquez Jr. as the rising star is reportedly expected to participate in this year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest, via Greg Sylvander and Five Reasons Sports Network.
The contest will take place on February 17, Saturday night of NBA All-Star weekend on TNT.
It is currently unknown who will be everybody going against Jaquez Jr outside of reigning Dunk Contest Champion Mac McClung.
However, Miami’s young stud is going to showcase his talent and ability on another nationally televised event.
Mac McClung will get a chance to defend his Dunk Contest crown from a year ago and be a tough opponent for Jaquez Jr.
Derrick Jones Jr. won the contest during the 2019-2020 season as a member of the Miami Heat.
Hopefully, Jaquez Jr. can wind up being the more recent winner repping a Heat jersey.

Nice. The Heat missed the in-season tourney. But Jamie certainly got some national spotlight during the Christmas day games. All-star weekend is the next big national spotlight on the NBA, nice to see Jamie back in the center of the action.
Honest question: At this point, would you trade Jamie Jaquez for Damian Lillard straight up?
