heat for life

speaking of great backcourts tomorrows opponent might be the best ever.just sit jim bam and ty pls spo,

Reality Czech

Why? We still have a shot at 7th. Although admittedly, we’re a better road team than home this season.

Alien

What difference does the 7th or 8th make, if I may ask?

Reality Czech

Initially, I felt that the play in game would be at home if we overtook the Sixers, which normally would be an advantage. Then I remembered our road record is actually better than our home record this season, so being in 7th for the play-in likely makes no difference.
Of course, if we ended up as 7th seed for the playoffs, it could be a big difference as we’d open up against the Bucks instead of the Celtics.

ManilaHeat

Lets go 7th! 😁

Alien

And you think the Heat’s chances are better with the Bucks?

Reality Czech

Considering the Celtics are the most dominant team in the NBA this season? Seems clearly a yes. I also think we match up better with the Bucks.

Alien

If I had a choice I will prefer Celtics because they lack character in the face if adversity. The Bucks in contrast are more resilient team and have championship pedigree. Against both teams this season , this present Heat will be out in 4, at most 6.

SunManFromDogBone

Bucks are 4-6 in last 10 and the team they trail by 14 games, Boston, is 7-3. If Heat players get healthy, they may be able to hold their own as #7 team vs #2 and as second round team vs winner of #3 vs #6. Unless Boston has an injury to one of top 3, they would be pretty tough to beat. This year’s team is much better than last year with Jrue and Portzingis. Strong bench too. Only way to compete is if Miami has lock down defense and is hitting 3’s. Otherwise, they will get buried.

Alien

I have seen the games Boston lost this season inspite of having their full compliment of star players. It boils down to the same old issue the team loosing composure when it matters. That is very important inspite of the amount of skills they have. My 1 cent still prefers Boston to Bucks. Heat is one team that can ruffle Bostons composure when it matters.

Reality Czech

Totally agree. Even if they have had problems in their losses, the reality is they’ve only had 17! losses the entire season. I’m sure they’ve maintained pretty good composure in those 62 wins. I’m not suggesting we couldn’t beat either as long as we’re on our A+ game, but we could lose to either as well. To me, the additions of Holiday and Porzingis was a significant upgrade and their record is a reflection of that.

heat for life

why because b2b double ot.we should be able to beat atl and chi in playin.milw boston same sht gotta eventually beat both if we want to play denver.

heat for life

good to see gabe back with the lakers.rather have terry anyday of the week

ManilaHeat

Hmmm…Suns big 3 might be thinking – I’ll let the other 2 take over this game and so ends up with little effort for all. Or – ok lets make one of the greatest comeback! 😁

heat for life

down 66 33 to lac manila wow.there all healthy i believe.kawhi james were out

heat for life

jimmy play tomorrow doubt it

ManilaHeat

Wha…?! B2b? Id say rest em all and forfeit the game 😂

Reality Czech

I’ll say it again. Jovic, the guy who isn’t an NBA player and should go back to Europe, has earned the permanent starting pf job.

Zac

His defense isn’t up to par yet, but his rebounding, and offensive bag are just far too valuable. His performance in the second half of the year, covers up the disappearance of Jaquez, who clearly seems to have hit the rookie wall. Both of them should be back next year. Everyone else? I’m less confident.

heat for life

hes average player right now but jjj hh dunc stinking it up

Zac

I mean an average player who is 20 years old is someone you develop and hope they become a star. He’s got a long way to go, but the potential is clear.

Reality Czech

Doesn’t even need to be a star, just a solid starter would be great.
He’s trending in the right direction for sure.

heat for life

things looking good for him,he pretty much stands in the corner waiting to hoist up a 3.like to see him get in the paint more get some more rebounds hes a big boy

Alien

I will not consider him a permanent starter unless he spends 6 months consistently in that role. Bam and Jimmy are the only permanent starters the Heat have for now.

Reality Czech

I mean a permanent starter at this point in time, not necessarily next season or years to come. For that, like you say, he’d have to show both consistency and continue to improve.

Alien

Precisely, at this point he is not a permanent starter. Only Bam and Jimmy are. If in two weeks from now, the Heat are lucky to get out of the play in, Spo might find a different role for him as a bench player. He is still a role player coming off with the starting 5 at this point and not a permanent starter. I don’t see neither Bam nor Jimmy coming off from the bench, so they are what you will consider permanent starters. Jovic’s position is very fluid, so in that sense he is not a permanent starter and this is not a knock on his abilities, capabilities and potentials.

Reality Czech

If he keeps playing well, he is unlikely to go back to the bench. He has started like 20 games in a row. If everyone is healthy, I believe it’ll be Bam, Jovic, Butler, Herro, and Rozier. Time will tell.

heat for life

u bring in a julius randle type john collins player jovic goes back to bench.theres no competition for him right now only bam is the other pf on this roster

Reality Czech

Sure, bring in a better player and he could go back to the bench. Randle, yes. Collin’s, not so sure.

Alien

Well, I see plenty of scenarios where either Klove or Highsmith start in place of Jovic. Time will tell and we shall all be witnesses.

Alien

Yes, time will tell.

Reality Czech

From Tobin:
“Nikola Jović Shines In Miami Heat Double Overtime Win vs Hawks | Tyler Herro Pours In 33 Points”

From Locked On Heat:
”How Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler & Nikola Jovic Fueled the Miami Heat’s 2OT Win Over the Hawks”

From Coup NBA.com:
”Coup’s Takeaways : HEAT Outlast Hawks In Double Overtime Behind Tyler Herro And Nikola Jovic”

And, from right here on HHH:
“The real story of the game for Miami could have been the performance of Nikola Jovic. At just 20 years old, Jovic showcased his talents in a career outing with 23 points and 8 rebounds on 8/12 shooting, 5/8 from 3-point range, including a huge corner triple in the overtime periods.
His development as the team’s starting power forward in the front court next to Bam Adebayo has been promising and the brightest spot of the Heat’s entire regular season.”

No need to remind me about using the word “permanent”. Things are subject to change. I’ll just say knowledgeable people are seeing his progress and potential.

I will be first to admit I didn’t think he was ready to assume more minutes. I was wrong. He has surprised me. He is ahead of the pace I saw a few months ago. It was a smart move giving him more playing time and expediting his development. I hope he continues to develop as the season/playoffs continue. At 20 years of age, his potential is unlimited.

Once Rozier is 100% the offense should be even better. Same with Duncan. HH is filling in admirably. If he can play defense and knock down a few 3’s a game he can be a vital part of the playoff rotation. What’s going on with Kevin Love? Is he hurt or what? Jaquez lost his mojo when he got hurt and hasn’t found it since. Wright is a good Swiss Army Knife to have in the arsenal.

heat for life

nothing he cant do on ct 5 tool player.needs to just get more rugged and have a dont take no sht attitude

Zac

Jovic might be our best player at getting to the rim. Crazy to think, be he seems confident when he drives, the rest of the team, not so much.

Good night for Herro, Jovic. I should give Jimmy credit, but those possessions at the end of regulation and end of ot1 are just kind of unforgivable.

The rest of the team had rough nights.

Bout30man

Just want to say some nice words about Nico. Really played well, as did a few others.

ManilaHeat

Ty 31

ManilaHeat

make that 33

ManilaHeat

they’re gonna spend too much energy n effort here 2ots just rest jimmy bam tyler

Zac

How can our final shot possessions always come down to Jimmy wasting 15 seconds, picking up his dribble early, and either forcing a bad shot, getting a teammate a bad look or turning it over? Seriously Spo, all the time this year.

Bout30man

That’s true. Got to figure out a better last play.

ManilaHeat

Jimmy: im old i need a lot of time to think lol

Zac

Jimmy just throwing away possessions and Spo just sitting there letting it happen. This is a veteran all star and a hall of fame coach? Clueless

heat for life

jimmy cant turn the corner anymore,he gets fouls with pump fakes.dead legs

heat for life

hh game saver

ManilaHeat

no bearing game hehe

heat for life

jimmy has to lead the league in getting shots blocked at the rim

heat for life

locksmith d yes

heat for life

pat missed an oppty with prime jimmy, needed a little more help didnt get it done

Reality Czech

If you don’t have a trade partner willing to trade, you can’t make a trade.

heat for life

jim and bam really only two players u can trade and get decent player unfort u might be right rc

Zac

Team needs to be blown up. Not one good thing to say about the squad this year.

heat for life

heat for life

ManilaHeat

Zac

Worst team in the nba in the clutch. Like what is Jimmy doing? Is that what Eric is drawing up? This team is beyond aggravating to watch.

Reality Czech

Martin and Highsmith 1-13

ManilaHeat

Reality Czech

I’m happy Bam is shooting 80%. I’m not happy that he only has 10 points and 4 rebounds.

ManilaHeat

yey! its a tied game! lol

heat for life

wow tie game just getting in

Reality Czech

Jovic seems like he has made his case to remain the starting pf.

ManilaHeat

oh Jaime ur playing urself out of the rotation

ManilaHeat

Wait…did Bam just made two 3s? In this first half?!

ManilaHeat

Double digits…let’s go 7th haha. btw…who’s a better match for Heat to get that 7th? Sixers or Pacers?

ManilaHeat

Herro heroing again.

Reality Czech

Still following on espn, not on tv.

ManilaHeat

At least it’s on time play by play

ManilaHeat

HH

ManilaHeat

Nice got the lead to end. My bet, Tyler going for 30

ManilaHeat

Finish up good this first

Zac

Butler, Love and Jaquez all just stood there watching Love’s missed 3, while the Hawks grabbed the rebound and race for a 4 on 2.

Low effort, par for the course.

Reality Czech

Let’s go Heat!! Have to follow on line, game not on here. 😠

ManilaHeat

Whatever will be, will be. Go Heat! …and Pistons….and Raptors lol
