Former Miami Heat guard Alondes Williams has signed a training camp contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, Heat insider Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel first reported Tuesday.

Williams, 25, averaged 20.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 43 combined games last season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Heat’s G-League affiliate. He shot 50.1 percent from the floor, 36.8 percent from 3-point range (6.1 3PA) and 74.2 percent from the free-throw line.
Not long after setting the Skyforce scoring record, Williams signed a two-way contract with the Heat in February. Though nearly two weeks after the franchise extended he and Cole Swider two-way qualifying offers, they withdrew them, making both Williams and Swider unrestricted free agents. Swider signed a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with the Indiana Pacers in early August.
Williams had an uneven Summer with Miami, posting 11.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists on 40.2 percent shooting and 39.5 percent from 3-point range. He ended it strongly, but it wasn’t enough to justify him remaining with the organization.
In just two seasons, the 6-foot-4 guard has logged just eight games at the NBA level with very minute playing time. He’s totaled five points, two rebounds and one block in 21 combined minutes, shooting just 2-of-8 from the floor without a made three (four 3PA).
The Clippers have one two-way spot, which Williams can win with an encouraging training camp. Other Exhibit 10 players currently in their organization include Kai Jones, RayJ Dennis and Elijah Harkless, per Spotrac.
Best of luck in Los Angeles, Man Man. Put your human highlight real to notice in one of the nation’s biggest markets!!
