As new seasons come and go in the NBA, the Miami Heat are always in the thick of trade rumors. Is it the geographic location of being in sunny South Florida? Is it the winning culture of an organization that has championship pedigree? To some degree, it could be a combination of both.
The Heat found themselves back in those rumors linked to yet another superstar. According to Bill Reiter, an NBA insider for CBS Sports, he labeled Miami as a “preferred trade destination” for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
“There’s a rising sense of confidence that if things go badly in Milwaukee that Giannis could be available for trade, would really force his way out of Milwaukee, in the next year.”
“A third executive for an Eastern Conference team said they have heard Antetokounmpo’s preferred trade destinations would be the Miami Heat or the Brooklyn Nets.”
The Milwaukee Bucks have come out to an underwhelming start this season, currently sporting a 5-9 record and sitting outside of the Eastern Conference play-in. Antetokounmpo has voiced his frustration on several different occasions to the media, which aligns with these rumors. Granted the Bucks have been able to secure a couple of wins as of late, but things have spiraled for that team over the course of the past two seasons.
They are coming off a first round elimination this past spring, and have shown plenty of inconsistency since the arrival of Doc Rivers as the new head coach. However, the Bucks have slammed the recent rumors of an Antetokounmpo trade. Unless he formally requests out, a deal doesn’t seem to be made anytime soon.
But if Milwaukee’s struggles continue to unfold, does a Heat trade make sense? Recent betting odds have given them the best odds to acquire the former MVP and Defensive Player of the Year.
A trade that lands Antetokounmpo in South Beach would be the biggest acquisition since Jimmy Butler in 2019. As beautiful as it sounds, there are clear financial hurdles in the way between the two teams. The Heat are just under the second apron, as the Bucks are over the second apron. That limits Milwaukee substantially in trade talks, as they can’t receive more salary than they send out. They also wouldn’t be able to aggregate another player into any deal, so sending someone like Bobby Portis as a salary filler wouldn’t work.
Miami is looking at financial restrictions of their own, as they are limited on assets that can match Antetokounmpo’s salary. Depending on who the Heat would gamble to bring in a top-five player like this, a multi-team deal would be the most realistic route. Even so, bigger deals like that are always much easier said than done.
The on-court fit would also be questionable in pairing Bam Adebayo with the Bucks star due to the lack of outside shooting and spacing. Jimmy Butler’s age would pose as a shaky longterm duo alongside Antetokounmpo, although a one-two year title window could make it worth it for all parties involved.
Anything could happen from now until this year’s NBA trade deadline. But as presently constructed, any sort of deal here seems like a pipe dream.

I don’t believe the Bucks will trade Giannis. And a deal with the Heat would be extremely difficult with them over second apron and Heat near it. I would not sell the farm to get him anyway even though he is a great player. If the Bucks make a trade, I think it is more likely to be Lillard.
If they do trade, I think it will be to a western team that has a boatload of good, young players and draft picks to offer, such as OKC or Houston.
If you add Giannis to either of those teams, WOW!
The Heat must be the most used team as a leverage by players who want an extension. Center position is the one position the Heat do not need an upgrade on. Heat bloggers hype these rumors so much, I suspect they fabricate these rumors out of their arses as well, that they’ve lost all credibility.
RED HERRING.
Last one, I promise.
Warriors would receive Jimmy Butler, Bruno Fernando and Josh Richardson.
Raptors would get Gary Payton II (into non-taxpayer MLE), Atlanta’s 2026 second-round pick (via Golden State) and Miami’s 2031 second-round pick (top-55 protection).
Heat receive Jonathan Kuminga, De’Anthony Melton, Andrew Wiggins, Golden State’s 2025 first-round pick, 2026 first-round swap (via Golden State), Golden State’s 2027 first-round pick, Atlanta’s 2028 second-round pick and Golden State’s 2030 first-round pick (protected Nos. 21 to 30).
Here’s another trade scenario:
Atlanta gets Herro, Kel’el Ware, Duncan Robinson, and an unprotected 2029 first-round pick in exchange for Trae Young and Larry Nance Jr.
Again, I wouldn’t do it. But that’s me.
I saw this trade proposal. It could work if Embiid wasn’t hurt so much, especially during the playoffs. Now that 76ers are losing, he’s showing his true colors. I think I would pass on this one. He’s averaged only 56 games played per season in his 8 year career. This year, he’s played in 3 games out of 13.
Proposed Trade Details
Miami Heat Receive: Joel Embiid
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Bam Adebayo, Nikola Jovic, Duncan Robinson, 2027 First-Round Pick, 2031 First-Round Pick

lakers got best player in draft looks like.edey hurt alot looks like with that size injuries gonna be an issue.ware the f is our guy jeez what u got to lose.play him 30 mins a game for a month spobot.current squad too small
If he will be available, this is a no brainer. Any Heat player should be in play.
I believe, Bam, a pick or two,a young player or two should do the magic.
Having Bam and him in the same lineup doesnt make much sense. They are similar players, Bam better shooter, him better in everything else.
Wrong answer, you gotta find a way to keep bam. Trade away Jimmy instead. You say having bam and giannis in the same lineup doesn’t make sense, but having Jimmy, and giannis doesn’t make sense either. Jimmy rarely shoots 3, even in his best year, last year percentage wise only made 40 3s I think. Even sometimes looking scared to shoot a 3 . Butler shooting is going downhill from 3, but bam has the chance to get better from Ala bosh. Having both giannis and bam would tremendously help in the rebounding department. Also look at Orlando they barely have enough 3 point shooting but been beating teams without Paolo as well. I don’t want go that far and barely have 3p shooting, but put bam, and giannis in a lineup with 3 shooters, and it could work with bam shooting 36 percent from 3 Ala cavs. Also there both good friends and without Jimmy we would run with a faster pace in transition.
They are similar in sense that both are playing point.
Look, I don’t want to trade Bam, its what I think Bucks will want. Giannis is a better player here, a former MVP in his prime. Bucks will want at least a young all star level player for him. I don’t think there is another option, 35 old Butler certainly not.
for greek any 2 players, 2025 dru jjj jimmy greek ware.terry hh kuzma keshad christopher
3 minuses? Not popular idea? I wonder why not.
I just offset 1. Now just 2 minuses. 😀
Thank you. Three must be some kind of record or a reason to be banned from this forum.
If that were true, someone would have been banned a long time ago. And it definitely wouldn’t be you.
pick any 2 players u want u got him milw, hopefully duncs one of them lol
They’ll want Heat’s best two players plus buttload of picks. No thanks. Same thing with Embiid. OPP (Other People’s Problems). We have our own.

That’s why you we gotta do a 3 or 4 team trade, so we won’t lose that much. And no thanks to embiid he already looks cooked .
u wouldnt give them ty and bam coolio
Hell no! Heat needs more rebounding. Trading Bam won’t give us that. If Butler opts out the Heat would be stuck with a disgruntled ss and a huge thumb where the sun don’t shine. Heat are always the bridesmaids, never the bride. Big name players flirt with Heat but never want to go to the alter, until the teams they sign with turn to crap. It’s time for a new paradigm in Miami. Take a look around at the young rebuilding teams. They are the future of the NBA. Like the dinosaur, Miami must evolve or die.
Here’s an interesting article on Spo’s current dilemma.

I would be fine with the Heat trading all 15 players on the roster for Giannis. They’ll be in the Finals within two years
Then we are just going to look for 3-D
players, down to the point guard and all the way up to center position, to pair up with Giannis and we are all set.
….If Giannis is that good, why are the Bucks not the East best? Are you alluding that coaching is their problem? ‘Cos if you trade all Heat players for Giannis, the only man left is Coach Spo.
Because the Bucks are never good. They need a player like Giannis to save them. The Heat are always good. You give them a player like Giannis, they’re raising banners. If you don’t believe me, google every season from those teams from this century
