Back-to-backs! We’re back! The Miami Heat take on the Atlanta Hawks in the second leg of a back-to-back Monday evening inside State Farm Arena at 6:00 p.m. EST.
The Heat are winless in preseason, while the Hawks are 1-1. Monday will be the Heat’s penultimate preseason contest, with their last being on Friday, Oct. 17, against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Miami will be playing the majority of their regular rotation on Monday … while the Hawks will be doing the exact opposite. I don’t think there’s a single thing that either team can take away from this game, but alas.
Anyway, here’s our gamethread!
Miami Heat Starters:
- Dru Smith, G
- Norman Powell, G
- Andrew Wiggins, F
- Kel’el Ware, C
- Bam Adebayo, C
Atlanta Hawks Starters:
- Keaton Wallace, G
- Vit Krejci, G
- N’Faly Dante, F
- Asa Newell, F
- Jacob Toppin, C

Riley needs to pull a rabbit out his hat or things might get ugly very quickly. WTF happened to Rozier? I was hoping he would get preseason playing time and raise his trade value.
what happened to shnozic.terrys old and in legal problems.i dont like wares energy night to night looks like.hes got the lazy bone syndrome.numerous times hes beaten to a rebound just from lack of effort.he doesnt close hard enough on shooters.has lots of potential but with bam and him on ct cant show it.the guy to get was kd for a couple years and derozan.give up tyler and wiggy shnozic might have done it.its to late now sm u ride with what u have season starts next week.our defense will be stronger and offense w/o ty not as good.a fresh ty is one heckuva player.so when ty gets back looking at a competitive team.def not champ contender but a playoff team.i believe we are on same level with orl and atl.
Needs looooots of work. Good thing its just preseason
They’re saving all their victories for the regular season.
houstan funny spelling
as long as the heat are competitive ereids doing the game and rc is posting im good
Jaquez having a good game. Davion Mitchell two buckets in row.
if jjj can hit his jumper a little bit hes going to be a good player this year.got great footwork down low
13% 3 point shooting. How low can you go?
12.5% now
after watching dolphins heat breath of fresh air
no 55 no ty
Doesn’t excuse 12.5% sir
other ways to score pts
I wasn’t talking about other ways. I was talking specifically about an unacceptable 3 point percentage.
other teams will score less
Lol, what the heck are you talking about?
55 gone
I think we already addressed that
You wanted him gone. What did you think would happen to team’s 3PT%. Same with Herro. Sometimes one-way 3pt shooters are necessary evils.
who shoots 3 on okc
Caruso 35.3%
Dort 41.2%
Shai 37.5%
Holmgren 37.9%
Joe 41.2%
Williams 36.5%
All numbers from last season. Next question.
Average 3p% last season for an NBA team last season was about 36.5%. Shooting 12% in a game has absolutely nothing to do with the loss of 1 or 2 players.
What RC said. More importantly, who doesn’t play defense on OKC?
the problem with team bam is your best player.need better players than bam .2 pt 3 pters just need a few better than bam.all the good teams have two better players than bam most have 3
wheres trae porz and the crew
Dru!
jaime jokic pelle ceiling is a good bench player
we kill jimmy here deservedly so but when he cared in his first 4 years he was one heckuva player, dont have one of those type on team.ceiling for this group prob 6 seed floor 10 seed.need a butler type player.kd was avail wish we had him
spo trying that bam ware combo again. need to solve that puzzle or one really has to go to the bench
Need a reliable big (or 2) or Heat will be in trouble if either one is out.
Great, just what we need, more injuries going into the season. Fits with SM asking what happens if Bam or Ware are injured?
that sucks
Let’s go Heat!
bam inspired? his gf won another ring
If this is the best Miami’s starters can do against Atlanta’s 3rd string and G League scrubs, it’s going to be a very, very, very long season. 6 of first 8 games are on the road and most of their first 23 games are against playoff teams.
yep not looking good…needs lots of work
Yeah, just got in and looked at the box score.
How’s it going so far, just tuned in. Jaime has a lot of points.
not so good in first…making strides this second
comeback in the 2nd heat’s vets vs hawks newbies lol
no ones here….sad
go heat
