Behind a late fourth-quarter surge, the Miami Heat escaped with a 106-95 win over the Brooklyn Nets Thursday evening inside Barclays Center.
It was an ugly offensive performance from the Heat, who had just 86 points with five minutes to go in regulation. But strong nights from Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Norman Powell fueled the late rally, outscoring them 20-13 over the final 4:55.
Miami’s win snaps a five-game losing streak, which dates back to Dec. 3 against the Dallas Mavericks. It needed a fast start to this three-game road trip, and while Thursday’s win wasn’t completely “fast,” a win is a win, in the end.
Powell tallied a team-high 24 points on 8-of-14 shooting and 3-of-5 from 3-point range, adding five rebounds, three steals and two assists. Ware re-entered the starting lineup and had, by far, his most impactful game in nearly a month, tallying 22 points with 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Jaquez had 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting off the bench. While Adebayo struggled shooting, he was excellent on the glass, hauling down a season-high 17 boards.
It was a struggle for the Nets — led by Michael Porter Jr. and Nic Claxton — offensively. Winners of four of its last six entering Thursday, Brooklyn shot just 38.8 percent and 22.4 percent from 3-point range. Porter had 28 points on 10-of-24 shooting; Claxton had 16 points and 12 rebounds while Egor Demin had 14 points … and his lunch money stolen by Davion Mitchell.

The rest, I dont know. Why keeping Wiggins on the floor playing like that is beyond me.
Nice win. Good to see Ware and JJJ play so well, along with the usual from Powell.

Bam, Wiggins, Herro and a pick for Giannis, his brother, Portis and a bag of chips.
I can live with Mitchell, Powell, Jaquez, Giannis and Ware
Apparently they’re asking for Ware.
OK. Herro, Fontecchio, Ware, Rozier and a pick for Giannis, his brother and Portis. If the Bucks play hardball, we may need to throw in heat4life in order to close the deal.
Exactly what I’ve heard and believe.
