This game was an indictment of everything that’s wrong with the Heat. The hype, the false optimism, the delusional positivity, those bubbles were popped. When you think to yourself, hey maybe we are better than we give this team credit for- we’ll lay those thoughts to rest. When you think to yourself that Riley has reasons for the things he does and he’s not just asleep at the wheel, this game says, no, he really is incompetent and needs to go.

No good team loses to a tanker who sits their starters in the fourth. That’s reality. There is no excuse. It should especially be embarrassing to an organization that claims it never tanks. You can’t have it both ways- because if you never tank, is this the best you can do after three years of this?

there are teams in sports that can overcome injuries becuase for a period of time cause of quality depth and in football superior coaching.when your depth is jovic fonzi dru thats a major problem.again it all goes back to pats selection of players as youve pointed out.

Spo is trying to compete with Rozier and Herro out and Jovic useless. Not easy to do. Thank you Pat.

That pretty much says it all. Heat can’t beat a team that intentionally sits its starters because it wants to tank? Even with Utah’s scrubs on the floor, Miami still gets outrebounded by 15? WTF? So much for having an easy schedule.Next up the Pelicans. Even the name is scary.

I think what is tough is buying into the few comments that come from the Heat leadership these days.

You see the team built up so much goodwill over the years that there was a tendency to believe in them when there was that gray area of uncertainty. A lot of us, myself included, for a long time gave Riley the benefit of the doubt. And for maybe the last one or two years, a good argument could be made that even though, in retrospect, he didn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt, one could understand that thinking and I myself often thought that I was not having enough faith. And then there are the few good moves that got made over that timeframe that make evaluating Pat’s overall efforts hard to judge fairly.

But, this year I feel like all that broke down and one can only, with any ability to be objective, state that our GM is doing an overall poor job, and has been for at least a few years.

And as we watch this rudderless team going nowhere and having several impediments to even getting out of the box that our GM has cornered us into with some of his bad decisions, it feels like no one is being held accountable and what we hear from his spokespeople (never him as he is a ghost) are only absurd justifications for making the same mistakes again into the future. That part of the whole experience is hard to accept.

Heatforlife said I’m not a fan of the heat and that I never have anything positive to say about the team. I’m a fan but I root for losses for this team because that’s the only way we can really hope for change and hopefully they will burn that bs 10 commandments draconian way of thinking. Mia needs star power and picking 15th and up in these draft classes isn’t helping, can norm and Powell be signed and traded? I want bam to request a trade (won’t ever do it) my dream again he gets traded to the thunder for jwill and they build around him kas and ware whatever you get for herro (2nd round picks maybe a salary dump) jovic can he be sent to the euro league for a player from over there?

4peat playin championship pending

Jwill is a foundation piece of a champion team, still on rookie contract. Its easier to get SGA then him. Or Giannis, or Luka.

Heat have nothing to make OKC trade him for.

Yall have nothing but negative feedback and shooting a conversation down. What do you suggest? Go how they’ve been going. And they aren’t trading sga over jwill that’s dumb talk doncic got trade Trae young etc etc who were foundational pieces. Oh I know what yall solution are playin mediocre wish for the best with the garbage they have or the team now

You can dream or you can be realistic. I have a long list of players which I would like to see in Miami, and there is a much shorter list of good players who can realistically be in Miami.

Garbage players?

There are 4 all stars in the team. Those are not garbage players.

And there are 8 players younger then 25 years. Those players will peak in years to come. They may be garbage now, but some of them wont be garbage in the future.

Then you have Dru, Mitchell, Simone. Those players have something to contribute. And there is Rosier.

I m not unhappy with the quality of the players, but I m unhappy with the way those players are used, and I m not happy about how the team needs were addressed.

This is a team with a lot of good, but not great players. But not a great team.

What players then? Again you talking about being realistic but said okc would trade their franchise player over a foundational piece your not being realistic nothing.

What realistic moves can Mia make that gives them a young up and coming star besides what I said or tanking. Oh lemme guess Antman Giannis, sga (your words) Luka Zion Donovan Mitchell for the 3rd time is coming lmao. Any name besides them and Mia is in the playin again

The most realistic is Giannis, which will be available again in the summer. Jokic can be available too pretty soon. Mitchell also, if Cleveland fails. Kawhi too. Then comes the likes of SGA and Luka, still young players, but with big contract, which might be available when will be around 30 or 32.

And after that comes young good players, like Wiliams, Wemby, Cunningham, Edwards.

You will noticed, that older players comes first. Miami needs to hunt anybody from that list above, if there is at least small chance, to get them.

Almost all players change teams during their career, even superstars.

Watching the Heat play these days is getting pretty disgusting. I like most of the players, but I do not like the direction the organization is going.

This one is on Riley. The Heat were killed on the boards 58-43, despite the fact Utah’s best rebounder (Walter Kesler 10.8 rpg) was out injured and Nurkic (10.3 rpg), Markkanen and Jackson were kept on the bench the entire 4th quarter so Utah could intentionally tank. They gave the game to Miami on a silver platter.

Knowing the team has been short at least one quality frontcourt player all season, Riley did absolutely nothing before the trade deadline to rectify the situation. He’s been asleep at the wheel for a while now and it is hurting the team. I’m sure he’s instructed Spo to play Jovic in order to save face save face and to justify his decision to give him that $62.4M contract which Jovic neither earned nor deserved.

The front office assumes fans will keep supporting the team, no matter what. They may be right about most fans, but not all. Btw, when was Bam appointed Point Center? I must have missed that announcement.

Shameful lose to a actively tanking team. I met one of the commentators for the jazz team… you know it’s bad when he told me he wanted his jazz to lose and seemed disappointed that heat lost. We need to do a stealth tank.

Looking at the schedule it is pretty easy for the next fifteen games but the last ten are against mostly good teams., I predict the Heat will win about fourteen of their last 25, end up four over, 43-39., unless Philly rests its players at the end and then we go 45-37, which is right about what we predicted. Whatever, we appear to be headed for the play in again.

If you lower your expectations, you limit your disappointment. Don’t expect anything more than continued mediocrity and another birth in the play-in round this year. Nothing more.

And if you can’t see that Kas is a pretty decent defender already, not great, but decent, and you don’t accept my opinion, or big guy’s, or bout30’s, or Eric Reid’s, or many others, try looking in the mirror

dude i trust my judgement nobody gonna change my mind u understand they were hunting him out ron rothstein said that hes not as bad as unc or ty but hes below average easily i need to see him stay in front of bros like dav wiggy bam do almost all the time.if he can shoot like this he will play if he cant he shouldnt play.i hope he keeps this shooting up the end goal is for heat wins.defense wins champ look at seattle and okc.kas is a liability on d but if he can shoot over 40% on 3s he should play cause his d is not uncanish.or herroish hes in the fonzi category a step above the previous 2.u dont seem to value defense to much it doesnt show up on the box scores on espn.com

Maybe Lauri is their best, but like Bam and Norm, it’s close. There was no excuse. Their mostly second teamers beat our mostly first team. And Bam and Andrew played great in the 4th, but no one else did. Jaime was particularly off. And, like you pointed out during the game, Rothstein showed after the game on film how they targeted Kaspar.

Yes, there are so many tankers on the Heat’s schedule that the Heat can try to hype the illusion that they are competitive. But, we just lost to a tanker and the reality is we would be smarter to get the better draft pick than get drummed out in the play in or first round. I’m not getting fooled again.
