There are officially fewer than six weeks left in the 2025-26 regular season, where the Miami Heat have just 21 games left. Miami is still two games back of the Philadelphia 76ers for the sixth-and-final postseason slot, hoping to avoid its fourth-straight play-in. As we enter the final full month of the regular season, what are five games that could decide the Heat’s fate? Let’s examine!
March 6 @ Hornets:
Skinny: This is one of two road games against Charlotte this month. Miami must take care of business against the young-and-fun Hornets, led by LaMelo Ball, rookie sharpshooter guard Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller, who are just two games back of them in the standings. If we’re being honest, the Hornets are better than Miami right now. That’s not a high bar, though the Hornets’ record — 29-31 — doesn’t quite indicate that. If Miami wants to prove any naysayers (including myself) wrong, this will be an important game for play-in seeding.
March 12 vs. Bucks:
Skinny: The Giannis-less Bucks threw up 39 points en route to an 11-point win over Miami last week. They aren’t tanking (they’re just bad), but that can’t happen again — Giannis or no Giannis.
March 14 vs. Magic:
Skinny: Sweeping a four-game season series is hard enough. Well, the Magic have already accomplished that … except they have an opportunity to beat Miami a fifth time. Both are incredibly mediocre. But Orlando remains a 0.5 game up on the Heat, who have bested them in seven of their last eight meetings. Can the Heat overcome their intrastate rival in their season-finale?
March 25 @ Cavaliers:
Skinny: This will mark the first of two-straight against Cleveland. This game will also be the first of a three-game road trip, thus making this game more meaningful. The Cavs are currently beat up, but this would be a good game for Miami to build some momentum heading into the final couple of weeks to end the season.
March 30 @ 76ers:
Skinny: Ah, yes, the March finale! Miami fell further behind the 8-ball with its seven-point loss to Philadelphia last week. Well, it gets one more crack at its East foe with the possibility of cracking the top-6 in the East, depending on how the rest of the month goes.

1979 coin toss between chi and la determined the fate of magic wtf
I remember that draft. I was living ng in L.A. area. What a player. He played center when Jabbar was injured in Finals. They won. Like Lebron with more finesse and great PG skills. The year before he was with national champion Michigan State. Best Bird and Ind State in finals.
He played all 5 positions that season. It was amazing! That’s when he became my favorite player. Wade and Zo are my other favorites.
Magic, Nash and Dragic.
coin toss wtf?if u had to start a team kobe shaq or kareem magic?the love he had for riley.always comes out the hate we have for riley now some of us.everytime i see him interviewd always talks about pat..50 years later we rip riley here.magic not a fan of hfl 30 man and sunman
magic said pat very demanding a perfectionist worked his players very hard .had great game plan.
magic really praising riley his aura wtf has happened to pat
Most people get mellower when they get older. Some get crankier
seeing magic on kimmel whos got more $$ magic or shaq
I don’t know but Shaq has bigger feet.
spos use of players has gotten better
Nah every game is important after the break with that record. The play-in kings are just that right now…headed for the play-in again. Unless a miracle run for #6 happens. But guess what? Bos and NY wants to avoid Miami in the first rd.
1 of 82 they all count as 1 win or 1 loss
Yup. Every game counts.
niko played 18 mins a game shot 37% 27 on 3s kelel plays only 22 mins game 52 40% with 8ft wing span what the f is going on here smrch.those spo scratches are now permanent scars.wife asks me what they are.i tell her spoburns to many dum moves by the miami heat coach
was gardner suspended by dumbot he looks like a bigger josh hart hasnt played since his dirty move
SOMETHING TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT FOR A CHANGE
I saw an article in allucanheat regarding the Bam + Ware combination. It makes a lot of sense. Here are a couple of excerpts:
The biggest weakness in Miami’s zone defense in the past with Bam at center, has been that when Bam would leave the paint to guard a player on the perimeter, it would leave undersized players to guard taller opponents in the paint . Having Ware in the middle helps alleviate that problem and actually makes the zone defense more effective with Bam free to roam the floor.
With Bam and Ware hopefully spending more time together on the floor the rest of the season, it’s too bad Riley didn’t trade for a legitimate back-up PF/C before the deadline. Mo Bamba, Mason Plumlee, Chris Boucher, someone. This could be Jovic’s role, if he would only grow a pair.
jovics got the size but he thinks hes a serbian magic johnson .poor guy grew too much if only he was around 6 5 hes not a power type player.theres no position forhim west of the atlantic ocean
He needs to spend the summer at Muay Thai camp in Thailand. That’ll straighten his ass out.
send kelela there to
…and Herro.
i would say bam ware are our 2 best players.u ask other teams which two players u would take most of them are saying bam ware.and this coach plays jovic more than ware for a good portion of season sm rc h
Its a 50-50 thing. Ware hasn’t found his fit yet. Spo has high expectations and a short leash. Maybe starting with Bam and the team using mostly a zone defense will bring out the best of both of them, individually and together.
Unfortunately, it’s too late for Riley to pick a serviceable PF or Cup off the trash heap/buyout market to give them a little more rest.
i was looking at that kings team there a mess with some very talented players demar sabonis would have looked great in a heat uni and prob could have gotten them on the cheap side.for magics idle not to make a move at deadline oh well hes 80 now magic and not very good at gming anymore.
im from the school play your 5 best all round players .bam ware are in that group.by now they should be able to play well together its looking better and better should have tried from day 1.ware might lead the league in rebounding he has a knack of getting the rebound where most men cant very very high up there.hes got a nice stroke just needs a little more ud in him.herro should learn from pelle what it takes to be a baller.if he could ever grow a pair and be hard nosed hed be an all star type player.oh wait forgot the durability factor.scratch that idea his body wouldnt hold up.
With Miami’s inconsistency, every game is important. When the Heat can lose to a team which pulls its best starters and is intentionally trying to lose, the team can lose to any team at any time.
Before all is said and done, this year may have an all Southeast Division play-in round. Talk about mediocre, the #7-10 teams in the East could be Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando and Miami, with 2 of those teams advancing as the #7 & 8 seeds to face Detroit, Boston, New York or Cleveland.
What is the point? Two choices… losing in the play-in round and ending up being a lottery team or winning in the play-in round and end up being massacred in the first round. Hmm? Tough choice.
Heat are 50-50 right now to be in the top 6. Playoff experience is really important for young players. If you think the Heat has any young players with upside, making the playoffs is a good outcome for the season. If the Heat miss the top 6 and make the play-in but lose twice (unlikely), they would be at best #11 in the lottery like Dallas was last year, and have a 9.4% chance at a top 4 pick, 90.6% to pick from 11-14. Those odds aren’t worth trying to lose meaningful games at the end of the season.
If Miami finishes 9th or 10th, the team would be eliminated in one game of the play-in round, not two.
All things considered, as RC and I suggested last year, making an honest effort and losing in the play-in round would have been the preferable alternative. We did not feel that intentionally tanking was the way to go. The team somehow got hot for a minute and managed to win two games and advance to the playoffs, only to be massacred by Cleveland in the first round. Meanwhile, Dallas wound up in the 11th spot and the rest is history. If that same situation presents itself again this year, my preference would remain the same.
at least play the right guys 4 best all round players bam ware wiggins jj need to get most minutes30-35 pelle can score and defend just not as good as above 4 20-25 min player.dav and dru can defend cant score.ty normcan score cant defend.15-20 min players.keshad and gard should be put into game to stop athletes nobody else can guard when needed.theres talent on roster just not being used efficiently enough by dumbot
That was an expected outcome before season, so its not really important. But I would pick massacre over high pick (very likely failed) hunt. The long, hot summer will be more interesting in that case.
Googled:
‘The 2026 NBA Draft is shaping up to be exceptionally deep, frequently described as one of the strongest in recent history, driven by elite high-level prospects at the top and significant talent throughout the first round. It is considered deeper than the 2025 class.’
I, for one, believe the higher we pick in this upcoming draft, the better chance we have of getting a player with greater upside that can have a positive impact on the team. I don’t accept that getting into the playoffs will be ‘good experience’ for younger players. How good was the Cavs debacle for young players last season? If anything, it was demoralizing.
There is a 17 year old Slovenian, Stefan Joksimovic, at 6 6 he is playing a point guard. He already played Euroleague games, just won Spanish cup with his team, and gets 15 points against Check republic the other day for Slovenian national team.
I m not saying that he is a Luka level talent, but for sure he will be the top international prospect in year or two.
Maybe the best comparison is Giddey.
Why I put that down?
If Heat will want to get him or somebody of his level, they should start to tank next season. Boy is good, but it wont be a good NBA player before will be 21 or 22, if ever.
Thats 3-4 years of tanking. Miami is not Philly, Was or Sacramento.. Thats way too much for Miami.
Is he a softie like Jovic? If he is we don’t want him.
Probably, as every vanilla from Europe.
Many, not all.
Ever notice how the smaller ones are usually meaner?
maybe in dogs but serbs the toughest one out there is jokers brother have u seen that bad ass jeez.how bout the jokic bros versus morris bros .that would last about 15 seconds .
Of course, its a nature of the game… and life.
The old saying is “the deadliest poison is in a smallest bottle”.
I absolutely agree. See my comments above.
Playoff basketball is the testing ground, it’s how you get experience in the league and see how you need to improve. It’s really invaluable/irreplaceable for young players.
On the draft, the draft is deep at the top, Sam Vecenie says there are 9 players that teams are “very excited” about but that
“After that is where the draft gets hectic. I think you could jumble names from No. 10 all the way through No. 30 or so in a hat (with some exceptions) and make a pretty reasonable guess at the final order.”
He says that the tier break in the draft is at pick #10. And also that there are 44 players who teams identified as first round prospects.
So if you’re in favor of losing the remaining games to get into the low lottery, you’re trying to get very lucky with a <10% chance at the top 4 pick for a franchise player, a bet that has very little shot of winning. Otherwise you’re probably looking at fairly similar picks from 11-20. 11 would of course be better than 20, but the argument that it’s a deep draft could also be used to say that 20 is like a low lottery pick.
We got our asses kicked last playoffs. Maybe this year we won’t get it kicked as bad.
I would rather get the #14 pick than be dealt a totally humiliating defeat like we experienced last season. Even though I’ve said all season that this team is better than last season, we clearly are not yet an eastern conference contender. And I stand by my statement that the thrashing by the Cavs served no good purpose for any player on the roster.
jjj was terrible last year ware was where.play bam ware got a decent shot rc im a believer play the right guys right amount of minutes.put the gardner on spider and keshad on beard for a biti wouldnt play dav to much go big
A decent shot at what? Winning a game in round 1? This is exactly what you said last season. This team is not a contender for the eastern conference this season, nevertheless having any chance at a title. You are thinking exactly like the guy you criticize – Riley!
jjj was terrible last year wiggy is def more consistent this year.bam has upped his game .ware is a budding star just needs dumbot to give him 35 mins a night.norm is a proven scorer whos d is average.ty is a scoreer whos d is terrible.why the f not try to go for it.last years team after jimmy quit was not nearly at this level.just dumbot has to give ware bam 35 mins a night, why the f keshad has not hit the ct is hard to fathom same with the largest guy on team goldin .f this coach
Be realistic. The chances of Vlad or Keshad getting real minutes this season are probably zero. Next, do you really think Ware WILL get near 35 minutes a game? He is averaging 22 for the season and 20 the last 10 games. I’ve been saying all season this team is better than last year’s team, but we need at least 1 more piece. Please try to be specific about what you’re suggesting. Don’t beat around the bush hinting at something. Are you saying this team has a chance to win the east?
winning the whole thing no winning the east a chance ,no east team is great.a no jovic team plus bam ware combo wiggy jjj as good as any wing on other teams besides brown in the east annonuby bridges duncan harris cleve traded hunter.norms as good as playoff james hart shamet.spobot needs to use right players rc thats way i see it lgh
Okay, that’s a clear answer from you. I disagree. We’ll know soon enough.
thats bad coaching rc not to give goldin johnson a shot see what they got.i saw goldin at fau and he could help as a big backup.we all saw keshad jump thru the roof that athleticism could help against athletic forwards.a chance to win the east yes .play the right players the right minutes .fn coach isnt
I’m not saying what could be, should be. I’m saying what likely will be. And what is likely is no meaningful minutes for Vlad and Keshad anytime soon.
u are correct as always .is it right though ?
That’s a very fair question. Would I manage personnel differently? Yes.
bam for mobley ware for allen pelle gardner jjj keshad for spider james..norm and ty for merrill strus .all teams in east are beatable.we have no shot versus okc denv minn
You think we have a chance against New York?
gotta guard brunson he usually kills us.not worried about anybody else.who can guard him id start withdav and then gardner on him .bam ware wiggy jjj norm are good nba players.brunson is great so they got the best player.i think knicks would be favored can we beat them yes if spobot plays bam ware jjj wiggy 35 minutes and dav and gardner on brunson strictly for their d.ty and norm couldnt handle brunson .but i honestly think we could beat the knicks.those jovic minutes killed our team ,lack of bam ware killed us to but i think spobot has given in to bam ware finally
Okay, here you go again. Assuming everyone is healthy and most teams shorten their rotation, who would play? Starting lineup will be Bam, Wiggins, Powell, probably Mitchell, and one of Ware or Pelle. For the moment, let’s say Pelle. That leaves a bench of Jaquez, Herro, and Ware. So, at best, Gardner would be 9th. But will Spo play him ahead of Dru, Kas, or even Simone? Maybe, but he hasn’t done so to this point.
kas is falling in the hierarchy drus d has trumped him.neither should play in the playoffs.simone is borderline unplayable.the gardner is better all round player.
ekbad bob what a fititing end to pnathers season last night.to many teams ahead of us .get barky back next year plus acquire a goalie think we could challenge for cup next year.heat get a ss next year and dont gut the team we could be there to.
You said the same thing last season.
this team much better than last years.norm jjj ware were non factors.wiggins is def better this year bam has upped his game.draft is a crape shoot.no guarantees unless theres a wemby type player
We’ll see. I disagreed last season. I’d be surprised if they get to round 2 this year. And, once again, here is a short list of players picked in the lottery: Hakeem, Kobe, AI, KD, Wade, LeBron, Duncan, Magic, Steph, AD, Dirk, Shaq, KG, the Admiral. In other words many of the greatest players in the history of the game, so stop discounting how meaningful the draft can be.
its a crapeshoot rc.might be rigged also by adam . if u tell me when wemby coming out id say rc im ok losing every game but thats no guarantee of getting wemby.u have a better chance of course especially if your the spurs.do the slotting like nfl baseball hockey.worst is first cut the bs out..suck for luck u familiar?pete roselle wanted parity not the spurs on top every year
But it has created parity. Some of the best teams now were cellar dwellers not long ago.
On another note, we never landed on the moon and Elvis is still alive and living in Argentina. And I still believe Santa Claus is real – at least I still get a gift from him every year.
im serious this year last year was in fantasy land dreaming wed meet in july bisc blvd.had no shot w/o quitter .no shot with him btw.lets add norm 2026 jjj and ware better wiggy better bam why not try to go for the eastern crown thats doable not likely but have a chance.please tel me why cleve det nyk boston so much better besides all have a ss.rest of roster minus ss our roster better?slow down ss with gardner keshad pelle maybe,
No way, you were totally serious last year. In fantasy land? Yes. But serious. And you’re still suggesting Keshad would play in the playoffs? Are you related to Rod Serling by any chance?
It’s a good argument on both sides. I lean the same way I did last year, try to go as far as you can. But, last year that was probably wrong as we got hammered. And I feel the same again only because there is such a low chance to get a high draft pick. I also don’t agree that taking a first round thrashing, which seems like it could be in the cards again, is that helpful from a young players gaining experience perspective.
It is true we are a slightly better team this year and if we use the Bam-Ware combo well, we could conceivably win a game or two in the first round. But to me, if I am being honest, that is our best case scenario. But, if that happened it would still be worth it to be playing in the first round.
So, the only way we play our very best and get that far is to do three things,,1) get healthy, we need Norm. 2) workout a system where Bam and Ware play a lot together, 3) have Ty coming off the bench to strengthen the second team.
So, my uncertain logic is to go for it again. But, I’m not saying I’m right. It’s still a deep draft and I’d rather go for it and pick 15th, then low-key tank and pick tenth, which is about how I think it will turn out. We need another Norm Powell fleecing trade to improve much more than that. Or, if we lose our best and third best player over the summer we can then blow it up.
Anthony Chiang on Bam’s on/off:
“Over the last 15 games, the Heat has outscored opponents by 14.1 points per 100 possessions with Bam Adebayo on the court. Without Adebayo on the court, opponents have outscored the Heat by 8.6 points per 100 possessions. That’s a 22.7 point swing.”
Been talking about this here, Bam’s on/off for the year is +9.5. (They are +7.2 in his minutes and -2.3 without him). His defense looks as good as ever – Spo just said he was the team’s best wing defender – and the 3PT shot is opening up his game. He’s only shooting 34.4% but on pretty high volume (4.9 3PA per game) and when the opposing big goes out to guard him he can put it on the floor and drive right around them.
Bam is great lately. We cant expect more from him.
I think he can still improve, just based on the way he’s added the 3 to his game the last two years
hes picked up his game lately lets see how long this lasts hes teased us before then he leveled back to his normal good play now hes playing at a top 15-20 level
His ppg has been under 20 since 2023. That was the only time in his career.
hes a good player waiting for him to become consistently great last month or so been great consistently
I give Bam credit. He’s trying to fulfill the role of team closer. Unfortunately, he’s not a clutch closer. We don’t have one since the quitter decided to throw in the towel and quit on the team and the fans. He ain’t gettin no banner up in the rafters either.
P.S. Warriors lost to Clippers again tonight. Now 31-30 and solidly in 8th place in west.
surprised there over 500 w/o quitter and currys been out a while also.if bam would mentally say im the fkn closer gimme the fn ball attitude hes got the skills physically to get it done.his offensive game for years was pretty much dunks from dunc.hes really impressed me especially lately.its a mentality he needs to acquire
Would vote for the Detroit game on 3/8. DET just beat ORL by 14 while shooting 4-30 3FG. They outscored ORL by +34 in the paint. Need to see how the Miami offense looks against a top defense.
