Stop with that. Most of the best players in history were drafted high. I gave you specific examples. The exceptions are players like Jokic, SGA, Butler, Giannis and others, but you have a better chance drafting high. For a guy who criticizes Riley so much, you have his exact same philosophy – draft picks don’t matter. Fortunately, the Heat management team wised up.

And, once again, here is a short list of players picked in the lottery: Hakeem, Kobe, AI, KD, Wade, LeBron, Duncan, Magic, Steph, AD, Dirk, Shaq, KG, the Admiral. In other words many of the greatest players in the history of the game, so stop discounting how meaningful the draft can be.

Luck plays a part. Knicks got Brunson because he wasn’t that good in Dallas, but blossomed in NY. And your assertion that 90% of high pick, as you say, suck, is a bit of an exaggeration there maybe? That would mean that 9 of the top 10 picks suck, and 18 of the top 20. That has NEVER been the case! Of course, ss are rare, but more potentially good players are in the top 10, top 15-20 in a great draft. No matter how many times you dispute that doesn’t change the fact. I agree with hhh4l on this.

Boy has Pat done a number on some of these fans it’s crazy. Team is scarred by Beasley and again Winslow who wouldn’t have been picked had Boston not wanted him. So 1 for 2 when picking top 10 and they don want to pick that high anymore because nothing beats picking late lottery late teens and in the 20s

I’m going to say it. Herro may be playing his best offense ever. And I know we are playing a tanker, but he is making some incredible shots.

Yes , I know you like to have a longer period of evaluation before coming to conclusions. And it’s true that Herro has been back a relatively short time, but I submit that he appears to be harder to stop than he used to be.
