While Tyler Herro will miss his second consecutive game with a toe injury, the Miami Heat will also be without two key role players.
The Miami Heat will be without Davion Mitchell (right groin) and Pelle Larsson (hip), the team announced roughly two hours before Saturday night’s game.
Saturday will mark Mitchell and Larsson’s first missed game of the season.
Larsson, 24, averaged 9.0 points and 3.3 assists on 44.3 percent shooting, 33.8 percent from 3-point range and 77.8 percent from the free-throw line. Mitchell, 27, averaged 9.7 points and 7.8 assists on 51.1 percent shooting and 39.0 percent from 3-point range.
Both of their impacts transcend the box score.
Larsson is one of the Heat’s best connectors, while Mitchell, their “head of the snake,” is the Heat’s top point-of-attack defender and playmaker.
The Kings, losers of four straight, will be without Domantas Sabonis (knee) and Dennis Schroder (hip).
Miami is on the second night of a back-to-back. Dru Smith will enter the starting lineup for the first time this season, while Simone Fontecchio, Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez Jr. are expected to have increased roles off the Heat bench.
