I can’t speak for anyone else, but I certainly don’t want the Heat to get into the lottery for the unlikely chance of getting a top 4 pick. I have stated this before. I simply believe that getting the 12th or, more likely, the 13th pick, gives them a better choice than picking 15-17.
I don’t want them to get into the playoffs either. My pride couldn’t stand another huge embarrassment like last year when they were outscored by 122 points by Cleveland in a 4 game series/massacre (30.5 ppg).
You know SM, I don’t think many people take the time to really analyze this draft. There are players in the 13 range that I believe could really represent considerable upside for the team. While there are many, I think Yaxel (my favorite here) or Philon (okay, another favorite) would be great fits – AS STARTERS. if they could add a solid second round pick, it could be the beginning of a great offseason. Unfortunately, one of our favorite second rounders, Bidunga has decided to stay in college. But I looked at another guy, Joseph JoJo Tugler. Seems a perfect high motor Heat type. Are your familiar with him? If not, take a look.

Prob the worst game of the year, no energy. Contrasting styles and all 3 games dominated by Toronto. 42%, 40%, now 36% FG from Miami. Toronto has good defenders, keeps the ball in front and Miami can’t do anything in halfcourt offense. TOR was +36 PITP. How does Miami change that next game

Pretty disgusting. Their defense went to dogshit and offense totally sucked. God help Heat if they somehow squirm themselves into the playoffs. You think the cornholing you saw from Cleveland last year was bad, you ain’t seen nothing. Time for Riley to retire and Spo to move up. They need a new coach. Did I mention disgusting?
I’m a little concerned about Kaspar. His three ball is great, his defense is good, his ball handling is good, his passing is very good, but his finishing needs work. Right now he’s not enough of a threat to get to the rim. He can improve but it will take a Jaime type offseason of growth.
He got comparisons to Dragic and that never made sense to me, Dragic was a walking paint touch even early in his career. Agree that driving is the area of concern, but the defense and rebounding is real
I followed Dragic his entire career. His first three years he was a reserve. He didn’t become an assertive playmaking guard until he became a starter in his 4th season. The Dragon was 22 when he was drafted. Kasparas was 19 when he was drafted. Don’t write him off so soon. Also, his voice and accent remind me of Goran.
With players like Jaquez and Larsson around, he should get plenty of first hand examples of how to be more assertive in the paint. He has the will. Now he has to find the way. I get the feeling his improvements over the course of his rookie contract will be significant, from year to year.
If the HEAT planned to lose this game by 26, they should have simply played Nikola Jovic in the starting five.

Play in bound! Whoopi du! We all knew this was coming. Question, are we really on an upward trajectory if we don’t get past the play in? It’s really just semantics as I do think this team is slightly better than last year, but it really is only a little bit. Let’s put it this way- if we don’t improve more next year than the amount we improved this year, it will be disappointing.

It’s not that I think Spo is bad, but I think he can’t adjust, and whether it’s him or the team brass, the refusal to play the kids more is malpractice. Would these younger coaches be doing the same?
