We are officially one month removed from the conclusion of the 2024-25 Miami Heat season, which was one of the worst since the turn of the century. Over the next several (week)days, we will be reviewing how each Heat player performed throughout the 2024-25 season, recapping important numbers, best game(s), and their future outlook with the team. Today, we will be reviewing sharpshooter Duncan Robinson!

The Heat’s sharpshooter was coming off the most well-rounded season of his career, but ended the season poorly due to a back injury. He was one of the Heat’s most consistent players post-trade deadline, averaging 13.4 points on 42.6 percent shooting from 3-point range, though he dealt with another back injury in March 23–unrelated to the one he suffered last year.
Numbers To Note:
52.0 – Robinson had the least efficient season of his career coming off handoffs, according to NBA.com’s Synergy tracking data. He shot 39.1 percent from the floor and a career-low 52.0 effective field goal percentage on handoffs, ranking in the 59th percentile on those situations.
9.1 – Robinson recorded a 9.1 defensive rebounding percentage, the lowest mark of his career. He’s never been an average rebounder for a wing, but that’s a shockingly low percentage–0.4 percentage points lower than it was last season. On opponents’ shots in non-garbage-time possessions, Robinson’s 8.8 DRB% graded in the 34th percentile, according to Cleaning The Glass.
Best Game?
Duncan Robinson’s best game of the season came on Feb. 26 against the Atlanta Hawks. He recorded season highs in points (24) and made field goals (9) with five rebounds and six assists in 33 minutes. Miami rolled past the Hawks, and Robinson’s performance was a critical reason why.
What’s next:
Miami has a very important Duncan Robinson decision to make regarding his $19.9 million early termination option. He has the right to exercise it, but the deal is partially guaranteed until July 8.
On one hand, he’ll be entering his age-31 season coming off his second consecutive back injury. On the other hand, he’s on an expiring contract, is still a capable sharpshooter and could offer $10 million in salary relief for a team that desperately needs it.

Bleacher Report’s latest trade proposal sends Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Ja Morant to the Heat for a plethora of players, a first round pick and a first round pick swap.
Miami Heat receive: Ja Morant
Memphis Grizzlies receive: Andrew Wiggins, Nikola Jović, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Pelle Larsson, 2029 first-round pick, 2031 first-round pick swap
I would only do this trade only if Miami is able to trade Herro to Memphis instead of Wiggins and exclude Jovic. Otherwise, I would stand pat until the trade deadline in February or until next summer. Five expiring contracts totaling $65.5M, come off the books) next summer, which would allow Miami to look for ss players available in trade or free agency who can help elevate Miami to a more competitive level.
Agreed need to get rid of herro if anything else. Also seen that Derrick white for Ivey trade and I’m not watching bball if that happens. Pat better not sit on his hands waiting for a player that’s never gonna come here or we as fans need to boycott the team

There is not really much to talk about, true. Still, I ll stay around, if nothing else, it helps my English to write something here and there.

Look for a suitable trading partner before July 8, 2025 when his 2025-2026 salary ($19,888,000) becomes fully guaranteed or buy him out for $9,888,000 before then and save $10M.

But lets see about some of last night winners.
-Halliburton was terrible starting the season.. Some said, he is not even an all star, and that he is the most overrated player in the league.
-Turner, an overrated center for years in trade conversations.
-Toppin, not good enough for NY.
-Bryant, not good enough for Heat
-James Johnson, man, which wasn’t allowed to play in Miami because of his body fat, and gummies delivering (rightfully so).
-McConnell- a dwarf, who cant shoot.
-Siakam, a star, but never really a star.
I cant even remember the names of other players.
That list above doesn’t differ much of the bunch Heat have today. Two half stars, and a bunch of weird, underrated players, which couldn’t make it somewhere else.

My point is that before a season nobody would give this Indiana a chance to be that high. From those players mentioned above, I would only want Siakam, nobody else in Miami, because I believe Miami has better players.
So, its about team effort, not about stars. Which is very good.

Don’t you understand caps and aprons. There are teams that would love to trade for Robinson so they can turn around and buy him out and save themselves a cool $10M in the process. Off the top of my head, there are at least 3 teams (Boston, Phoenix, Cleveland) who will be over the second apron, which triggers severe penalties. Miami might be able to squeeze a good player out of one of them in exchange for Robinson. Otherwise, Miami can just buy him out and save the $10M themselves to be used elsewhere (like Mitchell?).
