From the moment that it was scheduled, many Miami Heat fans were likely circling the Nov. 19 affair with the Golden State Warriors.
A significant part of that is Jimmy Butler’s return to Kaseya Center — for the second time — after the franchise traded him to the Warriors last February. But it was another opportunity for fans to see superstar guard Stephen Curry, one of the most enjoyable players in the league to watch (except if you’re facing him).
However, the Heat will not be seeing Curry, who was officially ruled OUT with an ankle injury suffered in Tuesday’s 121-113 loss to the Orlando Magic.
Butler, dealing with a back injury, is listed as questionable, as is Draymond Green (illness) and Buddy Hield (illness). Butler played 38 minutes against the Magic on Tuesday.
Need I remind folks that Miami’s already dropped games to the Cleveland Cavaliers minus three stars (Evan Mobley, Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland) and the Jalen Brunson-less New York Knicks after OG Anunoby left in the first quarter.
We will see if Butler ends up playing in his (second) highly anticipated return. The six-time All-Star, who donned Miami Heat red for five-and-a-half years, scored just 11 points with six rebounds in his first game back at Kaseya Center last March.
Miami snapped its two-game losing streak Monday against the Knicks with a 115-113 nailbiter. Golden State, meanwhile, had its three-game win streak snapped Tuesday, entering 9-7. It is 11-12 without Curry dating back to the start of the 2023-24 season, including 1-2 (1.44 NET) this season.

At 8-6 Miami is in seventh place in the East, 1.5 games behind second place 10-5 Cleveland. 2 games separate the #2 and #11 teams in the East.
At 9-7, Golden State is in eighth place in the West, 2.5 games behind second place 10-3 Denver.
After tonight, Miami’s next three games are @ Chicago, @ Philadelphia and at home against Dallas. All three games are winnable.
F THAT adams fault b2bs if im a paying fan im pissed.as a couch potato im pissed to .
That certainly helps, Curry being out. But, the nba has a problem with players resting all the time. As often as not, you buy a ticket and may not see the player you were looking to see. A lot of liberties are being taken.
Agree. My son loves Curry as a Heat fan, and if I purchased tickets to go to this one and he sits, I would have been pissed off.
