To conclude a brief three-game homestand, the Miami Heat will host the new-look 24-27 Atlanta Hawks.
This will be Miami’s first matchup against this younger Atlanta core after they traded away Trae Young. The Heat are 1-0 against the Hawks this season and have won their last three games versus them. Atlanta has lost six of their last 10 and is sitting at the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. Miami jumped back into the seven-seed after their previous win over the Chicago Bulls at 27-24 overall. They are two games back of the sixth seed and three games behind a tie for fourth.
The Heat will attempt to get some real consistency going with a second straight win and three out of their last four. Norman Powell, who sat out the last two outings for personal reasons, has been upgraded to questionable. Powell is coming off a first-time All-Star honors and still leading the Heat in scoring at just over 23 points per game. Bam Adebayo has also been feeling it of late, averaging nearly 24 points and 10 boards over his last 8 games.
Atlanta’s Jalen Johnson will be the biggest task to contain on the Heat’s scouting report. Johnson secured an All-Star berth of his own this past week, as the rising forward is averaging a career-high 23 points, 10.5 rebounds and 8 assists near triple-double on the season on 50% shooting. He will now be the Hawks leading force after the departure of Young.
This will be the final game for Miami before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline with a little three-day break before their next game in Boston on Friday.

The Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons agreed to a three-team trade Tuesday involving four players and a pick swap.
According to ESPN’s Shams, the Bulls are receiving guard Mike Conley Jr. from the T-Wolves and guard Jaden Ivey from the Pistons, the Pistons are receiving wing Kevin Huerter and forward Dario Ĺ arić from the Bulls, and the Pistons are also receiving a 2026 first-round protected swap from the T-Wolves.
What did the Wolves get, because if they got a first round pick for Conley, they could be using it to try to improve their offer for Giannis?.
greek wants to play with antman wouldnt u.u put ant greek randle together with me and u as 4th 5th guy youd be sporting a ring.jas coming here i believe.greek to cold minn.
Antman and Greek is quite a combo. And Randle, Gobert and Reid. That’s pretty good.
No first round picks were exchanged in this deal
Then, the Wolves bid is no better than ours. If he goes there over us, it’s by Giannis’s choice.
They got cash considerations and opened up more salary cap room
Trades are flying all over the NBA right now. What time does Pat Riley wake up from his nap?
If the Bucks decide to trade Giannis it will happen at the last minute as they try to squeeze the juice as much as they can.
So it’s Giannis or another 8-seed?
For Giannis you wait at least until the day of. Grizz still trying to trade Ja, so there are options.
To add, Ira and Chiang reporting Heat still have some interest in Ja and they are involved on both fronts.
Grizz have to be willing to trade Morant after getting rid of their other best two assets (one last offseason). Would you want him? I would but many around here may not. Would you want him if it was a fair trade, meaning we gave up a player or two, and maybe a pick, but not Ware or any of our best five players (which includes Ware)?
Or could they hold onto Ja now with the three picks to entice him?
That’s probably true as they have multiple offers.
Hard to be patient. Some players are being traded that it seemed like they did not have that much market value. Teams are making improvements and others are setting themselves up for the future. Trades are there to be made. Now less than two days left.
Vuc to Boston for Simons. The dominoes are falling.
This could be the last game we see a few of these guys. We’ll see.
jas handle like kyrie ant
ja cant be happy hes going somewhere.ja for jovic tyler work?to good to be true.lets throw kasper in to sweeten the deal.
Nah
Gonna throw you in.
That would be the best sweetener
id refuse the trade like warm weather tennis and rcs posts
BREAKING: The Memphis Grizzlies are trading star forward Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Landale and Vince Williams Jr. to the Utah Jazz for Walter Clayton Jr., Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang and three future first-round picks, sources tell ESPN.
Does that mean the Jazz have finally reached the point where they are on the upside of the rebuild? I still don’t like the trade for them as they are giving away their picks like candy. They should have gotten more or given away less. And, they will still have the issue I associate with the Heat; ahem, a preponderance of non two way players being asked to occupy roles that are outside of their skillsets.
My feelings is if the Heat don’t have a commitment for a deal with the Bucks by late tomorrow afternoon, they should see about doing a deal with Memphis for Ja, which would improve the team and cost a great deal less.
Agree. Something to change this seasons trajectory one way or another.
Yeah, maybe we would see more of you here.
I agree with your moves and your timeline. Wait any longer and the deal may not get done in time.
Remember, it is the QUALITY of the players and nothing else. One of our (you and me) favorite players on the team is, ahem, one of those.
You got me there. I agree.
Wow, 3 picks. Crazy. Does this trade make them a contender in the west? They’ll be better. But they are still far behind the best teams. And the question is: What is Morant’s destination gonna be?
They broke down the Utah picks, they’re not really all that good. None of them were Utah picks.
They still have a lot including all of their own picks.
Utah now has a plethora of bigs. Maybe Riley can squeeze one out of them.
