After hearing about the Spurs 10, now 11 game winning streak, I asked when was our last one. For the record, it was 13 years ago!!!!
The Spurs are a good example of how well a smart tank can work. But, even though they are far more than Wemby, including getting some nice free agents, you do need to get lucky with that truly dominant star to make it work so nicely. Then the free agents are happy to come. But, not in many years do you win the lottery and even if you do, Wemby’s are pretty rare.

You don’t need luck with Adam silver running the show, it’s crazy how they always get a generational big, first Robinson, then Duncan, now wemby. Not mention drafting rookie of the year castle, then harper. With pieces surrounding that.

Until that last three, Embiid was a debit, not an asset in the second half. Edgecombe, Maxey and Oubre did well, but the Sixers are not going far as Embiid is close to done. He did show what a great player he still has in him with the clutch three but they have no chance against the better teams unless he gets healthier and he won’t.
Good effort, but I want a top 10 draft pick.
They needed to tank last year. Feels like they won too many games early to get into the top 10 this year.
I feel the same, and I wanted them to tank last year, but spo wouldn’t allow it, and you’re right probably, but we still have a chance, if we lose to bulls, and hornets in the play in, I would satisfied with even a top 12 pick.
Cha and atl are right behind the heat I think they can get into the tenth seed and hopefully Giannis comes back to spark the bucks

I was aggravated when they made the playoffs last season, I wanted a top pick badly, I get the not tanking stuff, but when you have a chance to get good young talent, and the team wasn’t even good, they should of been smarter about it. Especially when we give out stupid contracts.

It’s a great game. They are without George and really Embiid. We are without Powell. It’s been quite impressive seeing some of our players show what they are made of. Win or lose, it’s been impressive for both Jaime and Ty, who didn’t back down. Bam, Pelle and Andrew were very good too. We might still take this one. Herro!

Embiid is not long for this league. He can hardly move this half. We have a real good chance to win.

Our first unit is holding up pretty well. Ty is really showing his mettle in this game. I must admit I am very impressed. Bam has been great too. This is a ballgame!

I really enjoy how Pelle plays. Effort, grit, and aggression. But his -15 in this game is, I think, telling. He would be a perfect 7 or 8 player

Now, 16 points down at the half, and our best player out, it’s looking pretty bleak. But, no excuses should be too much given as the Sixers shredded our supposedly strong d way before Norm went out. And a lot of loose balls went the Sixers way and they were much faster than us. We were only in the game because Bam, Andrew, Ty, and Jaime gave us good offense for awhile. Still, it would be disingenuous to not say that a lot of our criticisms of this Heat team’s shortcomings are being borne out in this game.
Maybe, but I specifically paid attention when the score was tied at 25 and our mostly no-bro group came in. That resulted in being down 1 point at the half, so that group was a net -1.
And the second half has been different. Philly seems like a slower team. It’s almost like they got tired at halftime. We have made up nine points already. It’s not over.
As opposed to others, I don’t see Pelle as the problem. What I think the problem is is that you can’t have a starting backcourt that averages 19 ppg. At least one of the 2 has to be a 20 ppg scorer. If the other averages 10, it gives you a better chance to win.
Not looking good. Powell being out does change everything. He is our best player and the burden on Wiggins, Herro, Bam, and Jaime is greater now. It makes it much harder.

They are getting away from us. This is a big game.
As I’ve mentioned any number of times, I sometimes disagree strongly with Spo. All that athleticism and we don’t give Gardner or Keshad a single minute.
This is a game where Kaspar looked a little overmatched. As did others. Not Ty though. But, now with Norm out, everyone looks overmatched.
That did not resemble elite defense to me. Even with Bam sitting, just slow and sloppy.

Embiid is hurt again. We should win if he doesn’t return. I know it’s anything but a sure thing. At times, they look much faster than us.

Wow,,you can already see Embiid is weakened by injury. He may still be an offensive force, but Bam should have a big advantage over Embiid when the Heat have the ball. The Sixers are beatable now, but when they get George back they will be tougher.
He looks like he’s in another world. And totally fatigued.
