He did NOT blow those 2 picks. Those players were highly regarded. Sucked how it turned out, particularly with respect to who was chosen subsequently.
Was gonna say the same good thing I refreshed this page. Everyone was rooting for Edey look where he’s at now. Hope he recovers well but even when he was playing Ware looks better. A lot of times there’s “luck” that factors in when drafting.
Edey was gone by the time Miami got to their choice. Edey went #9. Ware went #15. Edie has played only 11 games this year and is out the rest of the season. His injury involves persistent pain, bone stress, and laxity in the medial (deltoid) ligaments of his left ankle. He’s had 2 surgeries on the ankle in June 2025 and March 2026.

this team is so much better than last years team we can compete and give any east team a hard time.there will be no cleve disasters this year if we get to the playoffs.
This was the Nets. In the next 11 games, we have Hornets twice, Cavs twice, Pistons, Lakers, Rockets, Magic, and Spurs. That’s 9 of those 11. If the Heat go 5-4 or better in those 9, I might start to believe. The other 2 games against Wizards and Bucks need to be Ws.

Even when Pelle doesn’t score much, he does so many other good things.
Kel’el Ware with SEVEN blocks and FIVE steals? I know this is against the Nets but that’s still not something just anybody can do. Ware HAS to be a keeper at this point, Giannis be damned. This is gonna be Wembanyama’s league pretty soon. I’d want to have Ware develop to be our poor man’s Wemby for the next 10 years. We’re gonna have to compete with the Spurs’ and Thunder’s depth over the long run.

Ware’s having a monster night. Little doubt in my mind most teams in the league would have found more playing time for him than Miami.
If he can keep his effort up, his consistency will increase and probably leave Spo no choice but to run the two together (as he has been more recently)
He’s gonna be our starter too. We just don’t have the depth to play him and Bam together right now. Our only other alternative right now is Niko as our backup 5 (yuck). Let him learn from the bench this year. His time is definitely gonna come.

One of his best games of the year for sure. Its the PNR defense guarding in space where he struggles but he is having a great game on both ends

They’re much better +6.7 with him off the court. Some of that can be attributed to how good Bam is. But they’re also -0.9 with Ware on the court. He has the worst on off on the team -7.6. That matches the eye test. But having a great game tonight and showing a ton of skills

Avg offense and defense in the NBA is 115 points per 100 possessions. Heat go from an average defense (114.8) with him on the court to elite 110.9 with him off the court. Some dropoff should be expected from Bam to Ware but it shouldn’t be that big. Heat are also worse on offense with him on, but defense is the area to watch. The on off captures a lot that isn’t measured in counting stats. Having said that, he had an awesome game tonight

Yeah could easily be a 2nd half where MPJ hits a bunch of 3s. He was 3-17 and 0-9 from 3 last game. But Wiggins is as good as it gets on defense vs him
Ware w 5 blocks in the first half! Still looks lost on defense but he’s competing. Bam +13 Jaku +10. Bam is almost always the leading +- on the team. Herro’s runner turning into a real weapon. And love to see the lobs being thrown from Herro, JJJ, Larsson

Herro like a magician with his finishes. Going to be interesting what we do with his pending contract. Whatever we decide, no way he won’t have teams wanting him. He came back even better. OTOH, he is still not great on defense and will be considered injury prone till he proves otherwise. What do you think will happen?

It’s impressive how he’s come back, hard to do that late in the season. Looks like he never lost his conditioning. On defense he tries, he’s moving a lot. His slight frame definitely stands out but his vertical is good. And he’s even moving people out of the way initiating contact on offense
