The Miami Heat have emerged as a legitimate playoff threat over the past few weeks. They are riding a five-game win streak and winners of 8 of their last 10; now at a 36-29 record overall.
This recent postseason push has catapulted Miami up the East standings, as they are currently tied with the Orlando Magic for the sixth seed. They are also just 1.0 game back of a top-five seed. All of a sudden, the Heat’s organizational wide goal of avoiding the play-in is now an encouraging reality.
Miami’s success has truly been a team effort, with plenty of contributions across the roster during this stretch. However, there’s one certified bucket getter that has been nothing short of sensational in Tyler Herro.
And he’s getting the recognition that justifies that notion, as the NBA awarded Herro with the Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday.
The 26-year-old guard finally returned from several nagging injuries that kept him out of 45 games total this season. He looks fully recovered, and his play on the court has led to winning. It’s never been a question of skill or talent when it comes to Herro— it’s just been the availability.
However, all that matters is he is healthy now. And he has quickly regained his 2024 All-Star form. Last weekend, Herro submitted a season-high 33 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists near triple-double in a huge victory over the Charlotte Hornets. For the 2025-25 campaign, he is currently averaging 22.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists on an uber efficient 50% from the field, 40.2% from 3-point range and 91.7% from the free throw line.
Herro has done a terrific job at picking up offensive responsibility in the absence of Norman Powell, who is still considered week-to-week with a groin injury.

It’s also unusual for someone to be out for an extended time with injury and come back in close to peak form. Jaquez noted that and basically said it was due to Herro’s work ethic. You can also tell Spo has confidence in Herro
He continues to be one of the more underrated players in the league and also proof that you can’t judge someone’s game based on appearance. Not anyone can talk to KD the way he did, you have to be putting in the work to do that.
I just saw an NBA power rankings that has the 6 teams competing for the #5 and #6 Eastern Conference playoff spots all bunched together.
12.Magic, 35-28
13.Heat, 36-29
14.Raptors, 36-27
15.Sixers, 34-29
16Hawks, 33-31
17.Hornets, 32-33
It will be a dogfight/survival of the fittest! May the best teams win!
Congratulations to Herro. I’m glad to see him healthy and meshing with the team’s new style of play. I think he is much more effective, confident and comfortable in Miami’s new offensive style than he ever was in the old one.
The questions now are:
Can he keep performing at his current level through the end of the season and the playoffs?
Can he stay injury free the rest of the season and playoffs?
Is he worth an extension on a team friendly contract?
can u please lookup his playoff stats
50 playoff games 14.6 ppg 41% 33%
That was yesterday. Today’s version of Herro is much more confident and under control than in previous years. The jury is still out on him based on recent performances. He’s been playing like the closest thing to a ss Miami has.
I don’t want to discuss which players will stay and which ones will go this summer. I like all of them (except Rozier). Theoretically, Miami may not have any players 30+ years old to begin the 2026-2027 season. Stay tuned.

hes fresh now misseed lots bball this year we shall see with more wear and tear on him.hoping for the best expecting the based on previous years
Yes, with all respect for 2qbn, I hope he doesn’t expect to get an offer anywhere in the max range. He had so many good plays yesterday, but I particularly liked when he went streaking downcourt with Pelle who got the ball to him for a beautiful break away layup.
If any team is willing to pay him $50M a year for 4 years ($200M), it sounds like a big trade is on the horizon.
Congratulations Tyler, though I must apologize that someone here doesn’t like you. 😜
Several have wanted to trade Tyler. He just keeps rolling along. I wish he had better injury luck, but as long as he’s healthy, I hope he balls out through the playoffs.
Look, I’ve been guilty, but for different reasons. Concerned about asking price, availability, and fit. He has totally eliminated doubts on that last one.
i never met the guy.hes not my type of guy like guys into 70s rock and sports rc 2qb prob like more than tyler .tyler when fresh as good as it gets always gets hurt and nowhere to be found in playoffs.so yes rc going forward im going with norm pelle jjj over tyler.congrats to the great week.if im saying that in april my opinion of him will change.slightly.if from this year on if the heat resign him and hes great in the playoffs i will like him alot .as of right now like norm jjj pelle more.durability and defense do matter rc
Look, I will drop the issue. Maybe you didn’t mean to type those exact words when you wrote “I never liked Herro”. You can look it up, it was about a week or 10 days ago. I took your words at face value but if you didn’t mean that, fine.
