Hoping to snap their first three-game skid in over two months, the Miami Heat square off with Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets in a quick one-game trip away from home at 8:00 p.m. EST.
The Heat’s three-game losing streak is on the heels of winning seven straight and 10 of their previous 12. Their most recent loss was a 134-126 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, spearheaded by a 60-point night from Luka Doncic on 18-of-30 shooting and 9-of-17 from 3-point range.
Houston, meanwhile, snapped the Atlanta Hawks’ 11-game win streak Friday night with a 117-95 victory. Durant led Houston with 25 points, but the Rockets’ entire starting five scored at least 14 points in the winning effort.
The Heat tipped off their most recent seven-game win streak against Houston on Feb. 28. A total of 1.5 games is separating them and the No. 5-seeded Toronto Raptors … and two games separating them and Charlotte, who’s the No. 10 seed. Thus, with just 12 games left in the season, it behooves them to start another lengthy win streak if it hopes to avoid the play-in for the fourth-straight season.

HOU -3, would be a very good win against a Houston team that is not a contender but a tough regular season team. No Wiggins tonight and he guarded Durant the most (6:19 minutes) followed by Larsson (2:29) the last game
Last game Miami won in the paint (+16) by attacking driving lanes from Houston’s tired legs and Sengun’s inability to guard on the perimeter. Miami’s zone defense worked because Houston’s offense is not much beyond hand the ball to KD. Miami also kept the rebounding even.
HOU was the best offensive rebounding team in the league with Steven Adams and are still #2 without Adams, behind only Detroit. The Heat are a top ten defensive rebounding team but have fallen off a bit recently post ASB from #6 to #8.
List of Miami on off DREB% – of rotation players the Heat rebound the highest % when Bam is on the court (74.6) and lowest when Ware is on the court (68.7)
