The Miami Heat concluded a turbulent regular season with a dominant 143-117 win over the shorthanded Atlanta Hawks Sunday inside Kaseya Center.

Despite a mini third-quarter Hawks run, Miami, with a full cast of characters minus Pelle Larsson, was in cruise control the whole way. Among those missing for the Hawks included Jalen Johnson, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dyson Daniels and CJ McCollum, among others.

With a win, the Hawks would have earned a top-5 seed. But they appeared more content with dropping to the No. 6 seed in the East, which squares them up with the New York Knicks in the first round of the postseason.

Meanwhile, despite their blowout 26-point win, Miami, who finishes 43-39, remained the No. 10 seed as a result of Charlotte’s 14-point win over the Knicks.

Miami was led by Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Norman Powell off the bench. Those two scored 26 and 25 points, respectively, with Jaquez shooting 12-of-17 from the floor and Powell 8-of-17.

Bam Adebayo also had 25 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and a pair of blocks. Adebayo becomes the first Heat player since Shaquille O’Neal in 2004-05 to average at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in a single season. He’s the first to do so while averaging at least three assists.

It was another efficient night for the Heat offense, who capped the season scoring 140-plus points in three of their final six games. Although two of those three games were against the hapless Washington Wizards.

However, tougher tasks await the Miami Heat, who must have a repeat of last year in order to make the playoffs for the seventh-straight season.
