We are roughly two weeks removed from the conclusion of the 2025-26 Miami Heat season. Our player review series is back! Over the next several days, we will be reviewing how each Heat player performed throughout their campaign. Here is ours for Myron Gardner!
Past Player Reviews:
Brief Overview:
2025-26 stats (45 games):
- 3.6 PPG
- 2.7 RPG
- 48.0 FG%
- 40.6 3P%
- 60.6 TS%
After two seasons in the Orlando Magic’s organization, Gardner joined Miami last summer. He parlayed his performance last summer into a two-way contract before being converted to a standard contract last February. The 6-foot-5 wing only appeared in 45 games with the Heat. But he was their Energizer Bunny.
Numbers to note:
15.4 – Gardner’s rebound percentage
The more I watched Myron, the more he grew on me. And one of his lasting traits that always surfaced was his rebounding ability. Gardner’s 15.4 rebound percentage was the fourth-best on the Heat, and only 0.7 percentage points lower than Bam Adebayo.
Guess how many players listed at 6-foot-5 or shorter, who played at least 500 minutes, recorded a rebound rate greater than 13.6 percent during the regular season?! Zero. Gardner was 89 minutes shy of the 500-minute threshold, but that’s to put in perspective how crazy that number is for a player of his size.
1.7 – 3-point makes per 75 possessions
In his brief stint with Miami, Gardner was one of the Heat’s most effective 3-point shooters, where he took 52.0 percent of his attempts. His 3-point percentage was the third-best mark on the team (albeit on just 66 attempts). He also made 1.7 triples per 75 possessions, the sixth-best mark among those who attempted at least 50.
I expect him to regress closer to his 35.1 3-point percentage (G-League) with more volume. But those are encouraging marks nonetheless.
86 – Opponent players he aggravated (complimentary)
Just kidding. This isn’t a real stat.
But you believed it for a second, didn’t you?!
Best Game?
Gardner only played 15-plus minutes in 14 of his 45 games. But his best, in my opinion, was his 12-point, 11-rebound double-double across 23 minutes against the Chicago Bulls on Jan. 31.
What’s next?
Gardner enters the second season of a three-year, $5.6 million deal. His deal is partially guaranteed for $500K for the 2026-27 season, while his 2027-28 salary isn’t guaranteed. I expect this upcoming year’s salary to become fully guaranteed, though.
As currently constructed, Gardner remains an end-of-rotation 3-and-D bench piece. There’s a world where he becomes a mainstay off the bench next season. But I do want to see the other moves before I officially conclude that.

Unfortunately …Spo basically quit playing him after he pushed Pippen Jr in the back.
Another great find of Heats scouting team. Definitely a keeper.
I enjoyed watching Cain playing for Orlando. He fits there.
This, to me, is a no brainer. Young, athletic, feisty, very team friendly contract. Gardner is a keeper!
