Despite striking out on LeBron James, there’s zero room for too much prolonged disappointment. This is because the Miami Heat were already winners of the offseason by landing Giannis Antetokounmpo.
After years of rumors and mutual interest, the Heat finally wheel in their long anticipated whale at the heart of his prime. Antetokounmpo is 31 years old and still has the talent for several elite seasons remaining in the tank— setting Miami up for a potential five-year championship window to build around their newest superstar.
The former multi-time league MVP, Defensive Player of the Year and 2021 Finals MVP will join forces with Heat captain Bam Adebayo. On paper, those two will be forming one of the most dominant two-way pairings in NBA history.
Giannis is the Heat’s biggest acquisition since prime LeBron James in 2010.
Each of them are one of the league’s premier defensive players, and Adebayo has publicly expressed his excitement in getting an opportunity to put it all together one the floor with a top-five player in the world alongside Antetokounmpo.
“I mean, everybody seen the battles we had. We got the same agent and talked about like, what if it would happen? And now we’re to this point. So, I’m excited for the season. I’m excited to be his teammate. I’m excited for the city of Miami, and the energy we gained. We’re looking to take that into the season.”

The blockbuster trade felt like a fresh of breath air for this organization. They have been in desperate need of some significant change, most notably by bringing in the next 1A superstar to help lead the way.
Antetokounmpo is coming off a 2025-26 season averaging nearly 28 points per game to go along with 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists on absurd 62.4% shooting.
With Adebayo just recently turning 29 years old, it was necessary to maximize his best upcoming years of his career. Adding one of the greatest forces in the league accomplishes just that.

generals offering dd 15 mil thinks he takes that.that 10 mil difference gets the derozans lots of houses and vacations that roster is looking pretty good.no more ez ws in our division
He’s going to take it and never win a damn thing and that’s fine. Dude isn’t a winning player.
The Heat have $9 of the MLE and a $5.6 bi-annual exception.
Hmm, $14.60. That might get you a couple of croquetas at Versailles.
The garlic pressed cuban bread is more of a playmaker, so I say splurge the $14.60 on a basket or two.
Just like certain basketball players – empty calories 😆😆.
Is Giannis still happy coming to the Heat or having 2nd thoughts about his move?
to early to tell if he wins a ring he will be happy if not maybe not.need more on current roster to win it all.one thing he will be looking at hot chics alot more than milw.enjoy warm weather all year long.
Unlike many other NBA players, he is happily married with children. I don’t think looking at hot chics is #1 on his priority list. Not ALL NBA players are promiscuous.
Thank you, thank you.
Thangya vera mush. Forgetaboutit.
wheres our ring chasers dare we dont get any that would piss the nonpromescuis one off and the looker to
u still look sm i have a hotty i look anytime i see a hotty u?
It’s funny that people think Giannis might be regretting this just because the team hasn’t signed a DeRozan or some other old vet.
Watch the first day video SunMan posted. It’s not about old @$$ vets on the bench.
He is already working out and stated he wants to thoroughly learn the offense so he can help and get to know his new teammates.
It works out perfectly. He’s learning his ne teammates now, so he’ll have all the time to be able to focus on the two new ones in the next few weeks 😛
Haven’t seen you posting here lately. Is that the best question you can come up with or are you just trolling?
Interesting misspelling. I believe the original guy had it spelled correctly.
Chix munts aggo i cudnt even spill Alein. Now I are won.
I’m keeping hope alive for some kind of upgrade to the roster even though I remember saying something similar at the trade deadline last year. It’s all a fan can do.
I will say that, and this is just my opinion, that Thompson will help us very little when you evaluate the cost of what we have to give up to receive him. Again, and this is just my opinion, the idea that Jovic will fill in and contribute just because he does well in Europe has already been proven to be over optimistic. And again, just my opinion, but attempting to go into the season with this team and not attempting to upgrade significantly (meaning at least DeRozan or Beal, or even Richard) will not get us very far into the postseason. And finally, and this is just my opinion, we run a risk of having an unhappy superstar who put his faith in this organization if we sit on our hands and patch together a lineup with Burks and other players of that ilk.
Those are just my opinions. Thanks for reading.
There is no scenario where we trade for Klay, so good news there.
That is good news But, it does seem like the Mav’s are hoping to not just give him away.
Correct. And so far I haven’t heard one story or report on any interest on trading for Klay from another team. Mavs have a roster crunch, as well as being on the record as saying they want to bring Powell back, so probably two guys need to come off that roster. I would think Dallas has to decide in the next few weeks.
Still no signing for DeRozan, Beal or Brown. 3 guys that can help the Heat. A report the Wizards are talking to DeRozan. Man, this is what annoys me about DeRozan. He seems to want to go after money over winning the last few seasons. He might not be about winning.
I bet Miami hasn’t offered him a deal. He’s not a great fit, and if Miami only has the ability to really sign one of these vets, they might truly be holding out for Klay, who is a better defender (though not good anymore) and can shoot the three.
If DeRozan signs with the Wizards I will be glad he didn’t come here.
Now there is a scenario where he spoke with the Heat and told them he will come play no matter when is left of the MLE. I personally don’t buy that, but since he hasn’t signed, and there are teams with more $, it’s at least plausible.
Riley may not be offering him anything, pending the outcome of the Thompson situation.

Good stuff! Even Giannis knows Nico about to MIP 😛
If Nico plays like he seemingly always does in international competitions this season, the Heat’s dire bench situation will have been over stated. If not, they do desperately need another three point shooter and play maker.
“Like I told him in the message, I’m going to bust his a–,” Adebayo said Tuesday when discussing a text he sent James, per Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald. “So, it’s going to be an exciting season. I’m excited for the East. We got a whole new turnaround in the East. So, it’s going to be exciting this year.”
Bam out here ready to roll, popping Herro, threatening Lebron. MVP season in-coming. 😛
lol Bam is def on one this coming year.
A championship window, you say? 😉
I’m happy for Bam. Now go out there and have another All-Star season.
