Former Miami Heat guard and 10-year NBA veteran Josh Richardson is stepping away from the game of basketball, he announced this week.

“I always gave my best, that’s why i can say this with no regret,” he said in a social media post Wednesday morning. “I am grateful to have been able to love this game and it love me back as much as it did. It wasn’t set up for me at any point in my career, and from high school, college, and the pros.

“I humbly worked my butt off every day be the best that i could be. All my fans, coaches and teammates, i hope i left a good impression and a positive view of me.”

Richardson, 32, last appeared in an NBA game in 2024-25, his second of two stints with the Miami Heat. He only played in eight games, totaling 32 points, 12 rebounds, 12 assists, eight steals and one block. He made 11 of his 38 field goal attempts (28.9 percent) and 6-of-22 from beyond the arc (27.3 percent).

The Heat drafted the former Tennessee Volunteer with the No. 40 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. In 554 career games, Richardson tallied 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists. He spent six combined seasons with the Heat, as well as time with the Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Pelicans, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers.

Richardson’s best season came in 2018-19 with Miami, the year before he was dealt to Philadelphia in the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade. He averaged 16.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists on 35.7 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Congratulations on a great career, Rook 2!

A backhanded compliment is a remark that appears to praise someone but actually contains an insult or negative undertone.

This sucks. DAZN just signed up T-Wolves to stream their games adding to list of Knicks & Nets. How else can NBA teams pay these exorbitant salaries without PPV? Are Heat next? When that day happens …see ya !

Greedy corporate America robbing the middle class and poor blind. Corporations have no conscience. They are still denying global warming while raking in hundreds of billions.

Allow me to remark at this late point on this thread where no one will see.
It is remarkable that both American political parties are so wrong on the two biggest issues affecting our future. The Democrats just can’t see that immigration control is absolutely necessary and that nations that do not close their borders to illegal immigration are losing their cultures. And Republicans continue to deceive themselves that global warming is some kind of cyclical event despite the mountains of clear evidence that it is man made.
We need a new party that places those two issues at the forefront of everything else, while of course addressing all other issues too.

So you are proposing getting rid of all undocumented workers in farming, hotel, slaughterhouse, restaurant, construction and numerous other industries so Americans can do their jobs picking lettuce and melons in Yuma in 110-115° heat, working in slaughterhouses in sweltering unsanitary conditions, do gardening, wash dishes, do hotel domestic work, etc?

Corporate America which is exploiting that cheap source of labor and American consumers who would be forced to pay higher prices might no like that.

By the way, America is and has been a melting pot for over 100 years. As far as culture, what is American culture other than a mixture of people and cultures from all over the world? As far as preserving America’s culture of white Christian privilege/ entitlement, that ship sailed a long tim ago.

You better inform that segment of American society who believes climate change is a hoax, that they are badly mistaken. It was over 100° in the artic last week and fires are burning out of control all over North America and Europe.

I remember him as really good role player. Heat gave him a chance to be even more, but it didn’t go well. Anyway, my kind of player. He had a great career.

He assisted in HHH having Jnicho, as well as getting us Jimmy Butler. Somehow he made it back to the team. Congrats, Jrich.

Actually, Tennessee is a very pretty state. Best to avoid Memphis though.

Beauty is only skin deep. Ranked #1 in hate groups.

  • Tennessee had 37 active hate and antigovernment groups in 2023, equating to approximately 5.2 such groups per million residents. These organizations, including prominent white nationalist and neo-Confederate groups, exploit the state’s historical ties to the Confederacy to advance their narratives.
