The NBA 2K26 Summer League comes to a close this weekend, and the Miami Heat’s final game will be Friday against the Milwaukee Bucks at 7:00 p.m. EST on ESPN+.
The Heat played Thursday, so this will be the second leg of a back-to-back. This game was determined by each team’s record and point differential.
Kasparas Jakucionis was arguably the team’s top player on Thursday in their 108-88 loss to the Detroit Pistons, scoring 15 points with five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 28 minutes. He wasn’t very efficient, but he still found a way to impact the game in multiple ways throughout. Myron Gardner, who’s competing for a two-way spot, led the Heat with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 4-of-5 from 3-point range.
Jakucionis will not play for the Heat on Friday, nor will Pelle Larsson (Europe; EuroBasket) or Kel’el Ware (left Vegas). Keshad Johnson was not in the starting lineup either, so it’s fair to assume he won’t play.

is starting bc ty and dav or ty and norm?
Another ridiculous headline and story by Saenz, who I am considering one of the worst writers in the industry.
*Heat’s bold 2026 plans dealt major blow after Lakers sign Marcus Smart*
More great headlines from him:
*Heat’s brutal Tyler Herro realization will change everything about the future*
*Heat’s Damian Lillard cruel reality is unearthed if recent rumors are true*
*Heat’s plans for final roster spot is painfully obvious if history proves true*
What’s painfully obvious is the boil I have on my butt – or perhaps obviously painful would be more accurate. 😆😆
Thankfully, been a long time since I had the painfully obvious. I doubt they have a different employee writing the headlines at AYCH. I worked at the Miami News right out of high school for a year or so, and we used to sit at the City Desk and write headlines for the articles. I was just what they use to call a Copyboy, but I was writing headlines for stories associated with the Watergate Investigation. It was an exciting time.
Ha! I lived for 4 years in a small California town called Lompoc. They had a maximum security prison and minimum security farm. Several Watergate guys were at the farm. Chuck Berry was there for a while too.
Were you stationed at Vandenberg?
No. Knew people who worked there. Went past it often. No neonatal unit in Lompoc, so had to take my ex wife to Santa Maria where my son was born.
I used to stop at the Far Western Tavern which was in Guadalupe, 8 miles west of Santa Maria. First thing I had there was a NY steak sandwich. They served me this huge NY steak on a platter open face on a large piece of sourdough bread. Plus the works, shrimp cocktail, salad, baked beans, vegetables and fries. Freshest, most tender and tasty beef I have ever had.
Um.. I googled the place and the food.
If anything, this food is for young stomach only.
I had a friend, the one I referenced yesterday who was better in sports than me, who lived there out of high school, was in the Air Force there.
At that time (1974-1976), I was a young (21 year old) investigator for a former local news anchorman in Los Angeles who had been elected to a political office and was investigating corruption in local politics. I felt I somehow was doing my part for the fight against political corruption. I reported to two investigative journalists who had been hired to conduct various investigations.
Ironically, my ex and I happened to be camping in the mountains outside of Safford Arizona in 1976, when we saw a string of cars go by the campground and asked other campers about it. We were informed (and later confirmed) John Ehrlichman was being transferred to Swift Trail Federal Prison Camp in Safford, Arizona down the road from us. He was released two years later.
Miami Heat on SI trade proposal:
Miami Heat receive: C Nikola Vucevic, G Ayo Dosunmu
Chicago Bulls receive: G Terry Rozier, G Pelle Larsson, 2027 second-round pick
I would also consider
i would be giddy if we acquired giddey.not sure about his d but hes a playmaker which we currently dont have on team
Surprisingly his defense is better than average. He has made a commitment to working on it. His height (6’8″) and wingspan allow him to deflect and steal passes. He is playing for a poor defensive team (Chicago). He is projected to be a much better defender on a good defensive team such as the Heat.
Bulls should do everything to sign him if not we should do everything to sign him (herro)
Yup.
i dont think anyone is gonna take Terry right now coz of the game fixing issue. specially after latest bettor surfaced. but i think this is good: Herro, Rozier, Larsson and pick for Giddey, Vucevic and Dosunmu
At worst, he is on an expiring contract. At best, he either finds his mojo or is prosecuted and his contract becomes null and void.
Josh Giddey is a Restricted Free Agent with Chicago. He is seeking a new extension in the neighborhood of $30M per year. Since most teams are hamstrung due to limited cap space, like with Jonathan Kuminga, there have been no serious offers. Both Giddey and Kuminga have been offered $20M or so by their current teams.
Last season, Giddey played in 70 games which is what he has averaged during his four year career. His averages were:
Giddey started the season slowly, his first with Chicago. However, he finished strong, (as did Kuminga). For example, in his last 5 games (2 against Miami), he had the following stats:
Tyler Herro is expected to ask $50M per year/$150M extension this offseason and possibly more if Miami waits one more year. At that salary, it would tie up Miami’s ability to improve the roster and would be extremely difficult to trade him. In a sign & trade, Miami could acquire Giddey for Herro, straight up, possibly on a 3 or 4 year contract at $30M per season (thereby saving $20M per season). A pass first point guard such as Giddey could open up pick & roll and lob opportunities for Bam and Ware that they do not currently have.
An additional trade option is Rozier + 2nd round pick for DeRozan (a proven closer).
The Miami line-up could be:
Giddey, Powell, Wiggins, Bam, Ware
Mitchell, Jaquez, DeRozan, Jovic, Fontecchio
Jakucionis, Larsson, Johnson, Highsmith, Goldin (two-way)
*Miami could still pursue a trade for a solid (and affordable) back-up center.
I like it all. I even think Vlad could give you 10-15 decent minutes a game as backup center. Not the fleetest of foot or most athletic, but he compensates with size, bulk, effort, and a pretty nifty hook shot.
Definitely has the size and bulk.
I agree. He has potential as a back-up and would be on cheap contract.
Do you think teams will trade for Rozier with the investigation going on, even if it doesn’t directly involve him?
As good as Giddy is, I would rather not trade for him, nor Dosunmu. Vucevic is still a good player and would help us.
I think Rozier can be traded with the right sweetener. Vuc is a good back-up. Maybe trades for Giddey, Vuc and DeRozan. I can dream can’t I?
Those Chicago guys, including DeRozan, are not something special. After all, they mastered several exactly average seasons in past years.
Giddey is what we need, nothing else, but he is not worth 30 mill. No to Vuc.
Besides, bringing in another two of certain type nonathletic players would cause revolt around here.
Portland bb might just be an entertainment event with fans watching their prodigal son returning. Is it true McCollum wants to go back to Portland too?
Smart to Lakers.
CP3 to Clipps?
No takers for Bron and son? lol
The blog All You Can Heat has been mirroring my thoughts lately. Three days ago they said Kaspar was going to be a longer term project than anyone thought. Two days ago they said the Heat have to trade Tyler Herro because of his contractual situation, and today AYCH says that the Heat should have drafted Nique Clifford, who is tearing up the summer league with high level two way play from the get go. Nique was one of the two way players this site HHH, chose as a good target for the Heat, and one I referenced the day of the draft as a better choice, along with the tall guy from St John’s.
I thought it was you that mentioned another name. 2qbn also liked Clayton. So, kudos to you on that. However, as far as AYCH goes, I have felt that their writing lately gone into the toilet. Their sensationalist headlines, by Saenz mostly, but all, seem ridiculous. I am not saying I always disagree with them, but the click bait meter is hitting the max. Some examples:
Heat’s dream co-star for Bam Adebayo may be on the market soon. (Trae Young? Really?)
Heat’s painfully obvious reason why it’s time to trade Tyler Herro. (‘Painfully’ obvious? Give me a break)
Bittersweet reality Heat fans must accept after forward-thinking free agency (Bittersweet reality? Sounds like a romance novel. And this was a positive spin on Kaspar, JJJ, and others).
Heat already found Duncan Robinson replacement perfect for Bam Adebayo (um, aren’t they overstating Erik Stevenson just a little bit?)
Sensational writing brings traffic. That’s the world we are living in. I wouldn’t blame authors for that, they have to eat too.
They could write headlines and stories that draw us in honestly and more professionally. Telemarketers using spoofing and deception need to eat too, but I don’t really care if they starve.
You prefer professionalism an honesty. So do I. But many prefer sensationalism. A majority, I would say.
What a world
Yep. Very rightfully so. But I hate that kind of writing. I much prefer HHH fans thoughts here lol…so thanks everyone 😆
Yes, this place is an island in the dirt… most of time.
For sure, those were great examples of clickbait. And I thought the same as you. But, despite the headline, the article about Ty’s contract spelled out the problems with it in pretty good depth.
Yeah, not saying the meat of the articles aren’t valid. I don’t think I read that one.
The reason HHH folks were high on Clifford, Fleming and others is that absolutely no one expected Jakucionis to be available at #20. In the final aggregate rankings I’ve seen him ranked 8-12.
I don’t blame Miami at all for taking the best player available with the highest ceiling. If you are talking about the best players available to plug & play immediately (such as Jaquez was two years ago, that is an entirely different matter. BTW, Clifford was a 5th year senior and is 23 years old (4 years and 3 months older than 19 year old KJ). Clifford plays shooting guard. Miami already has a few PGs/SGs/Combo guards (e.g., Herro, Powell, Mitchell, Rozier, Larsson). If Jakucionis had not been available, there could have been an argument to take Walter Clayton instead of Clifford.
Yes Sun, I have to admit, there are times you take my thoughts and go one step deeper. Comparing a 23y old to an 19y old is unfair. I was born in December and my best friend in my grade was so much better than me at sports because he was born in February. The gap closed as we reached our twenties. But, he was still better.
Miami Scrubs beat Milwaukee scrubs 93-92 in a Scrub thriller on ESPN+
what fn channel was the game on.glad it wasnt on the marlins game was exciting
I couldn’t watch the game, couldn’t get it, but I want to comment about something only obliquely related and that is the baseball team here, the Marlins, have a player who is emerging as possibly a true superstar. Over the last two games he has hit five homeruns, and he hit one in the allstar game in the swing off which is the format that they use to decide a tie game.
How it relates to the Heat is that Stowers came to the Marlins last year and was below average and there was no indication all last year that he would become the player he is. It is not unlike Jovic or JJJ becoming an all star this year. Maybe it doesn’t happen often, but it does occasionally happen where something clicks for a player and he greatly improves.
jjj and jovic have zero chance of playing at stowers level.stowers and norby for trevor rogers what were the orioles thinking
Yes, but last year Norby appeared to have the higher ceiling. Not anymore.
Back to the Heat, on the stat sheet it seems like FAU’s finest Vlad Goldin had a big game against Denver.
hes the only guy i see with nba ability on this team .dainja has a shot need to see more.a guy that big who is fairly agile should be retained 30.marlins ahead of braves is crazy
Not sure if any of these sl guys should be offered the last 2-way. Heat will review all games to see if there’s a better option presently on another team. Cooke, Stevenson, Gardner, have all had some moments
goldin got fau to final 4
That’s why he’s already on a 2-way contract.
I hope Ballo and Dainja (great name) stick with the SkyForce. They’re fun to watch.
next to shaq these 2 dudes are the widest guys ever in heat unis
