The NBA announced that Bam Adebayo has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, January 12 through Sunday, January 18. After a rough stretch of games, he followed that with a dominant stretch that helped guide the Miami Heat to a 2–1 record with notable wins against the OKC Thunder and the Phoenix Suns.
The honor marks the third Player of the Week award of Adebayo’s career and the 63rd time in franchise history that a Heat player has earned the distinction. It also occurred during one of the most complete and efficient stretches of basketball Adebayo has played this season.
Over the three-game span, Adebayo averaged 27.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.0 steal per game, while shooting 50 percent from the field, 56.5 percent from three-point range, and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line. Perhaps most notable was his perimeter efficiency: Adebayo connected on 13 of 23 three-point attempts for the week and made at least three triples in every game.
Miami opened the week with a 127–121 win over the Suns on January 13, powered by Adebayo’s game-high 29 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. The All-Star center took over late, scoring 13 consecutive points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. His final three-pointer of the night also carried historic significance, as it pushed him past Alonzo Mourning into second place on the franchise’s all-time scoring list.
Two nights later, in his 600th career game, Adebayo recorded 22 points, five assists, and four rebounds against Boston. While the Miami Heat fell just short that night, his steady production once again highlighted his importance as both a scorer and facilitator.
Bam capped off his week with one of the most impressive performances of his career in a 122–120 victory over defending champion Oklahoma City on January 17. He finished with 30 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and a steal, shooting 6-of-10 from beyond the arc and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. The six made three-pointers marked a new single-game career high, underscoring his growing confidence as a floor-spacer.
That night also marked Adebayo’s 14th double-double of the season, his sixth game leading the team in scoring, and his 20th time pacing Miami in rebounds. He posted a game-high +11 plus-minus, the fifth time this season he has led the team in that category.
Beyond the numbers, the award reflects Adebayo’s evolving role within Miami’s offense. With his ability to score from all three levels, initiate offense from the elbow, and now consistently punish defenses from deep, he has become increasingly difficult to scheme against. Coupled with his defensive versatility and leadership, the Heat’s success this season continues to hinge on whether or not he can string these types of big performances throughout the entire season and into the postseason.
As the Miami Heat navigate a tightly packed Eastern Conference race, Adebayo’s recent play offers a clear reminder of his value—and why he remains one of the most impactful big men in the league.

Congratulations Bam!
Good job Bam. Looks like somebody lit a fire under your behind. Keep up the good work!
P.S. If the Bucks acquire Morant, Giannis will be less likely to demand a trade. If that happens, he may sign an extension with Milwaukee this summer.
Then what Pat?
“Then what Pat?“
Pat is gonna sit on his hands and wait for summer 27’. Where the next (insert ss) is disgruntled and wants out of blah blah blah team. They will float Mia as a destination while they go to another team…….wash rinse repeat
Pat doesn’t have that many repeat cycles left in him. At 80, his brain is shriveling up by the day. Time for him to move on. Fans are burnt out on his constant gaslighting. If he isn’t going to do something significant to help Miami become a contender this season, he should blow it up, retire and let the next guy take the team to the promised land. It doesn’t need to be a complete rebuild. There are salvageable players on the team. Keep Bam, Powell, Mitchell and players still on rookie contracts.
